For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

First Week
Well today marks the "full" 1 week for my son to be gone. There was a sales rep that came in today asking about him and when he was leaving. I had to tell her it was 1 week to the day. I'm proud of myself, I didn't lose it when she started talking about him. I've gotten to the part that I'm just ready to get his address to mail my letters. I think the other thing that has helped is writing to him everyday. Basically about anything that went on for the day and the current sports updates. My husband is also writing everyday and I really think this has helped him. He is still taking it harder than me and the writing is therapy for him. I still haven't made it to his room or picked up the shoes he "had" to leave in the bathroom or his stairs, but we both plan on cleaning his room this weekend. I'm sure that will be a major emotional roller coaster but we will have each other to make it through.

Just wanted to say Hi:)My name is Kim and we were at MEPS the same time y'all were,my son left the same day and we have received our Letter:) Have You? My son is in Ship03 Div 367. Just thought I would tell you,my son was sitting down in the background of one of y'all's photos,what a small World:) Hope all is Well:)

That is so great, which picture? I haven't rec'd a letter yet, but his recruiter called me to give me the information. He is ship 09 div 370, to bad they aren't in the same one. I hope I will get the letter today. I have no idea why they get in what ship, div, etc. I wonder if it has something to do with their rate?

The photo was the one with your son and a little girl,my son was sitting in the chair in the top left corner:) Not sure why they get in certain ships/div,maybe it has something to do with what type of job they'll do:) My sons job will be GSM,Gas Turbine Systems.Well I hope you get your letter soon,we just mailed our letters out today:) Stay Strong! #GoNavy

Hi. My name is Susan. Our daughter left August 6, 2013 for bootcamp and I know exactly how you feel. I've written her everyday and spent $30 at Target on cards. She is our only child and so it's been especially difficult. I "smell" her everywhere and can't even go in her room yet. I wouldn't wish this desperate feeling on anyone, but it is comforting to know that other moms (and dads) know and understand what I'm going through. Hang in there.

swalker370 I just take it one day at a time, I finally had to go in his room yesterday only because my brother (his uncle, they are very close) came over to get some things we are getting rid of. He needed something that was in there, I went in but didn't stay long I didn't cry only because again I wanted to "strangle" him due to all of the dirty clothes everywhere. His room is upstairs so I don't up there a lot anyway. Writing daily has helped me. {{{NMH}}}

My son also left on August 6 and we have received the box but no letter. I have been hesitant to call the recruiter and am trying to just wait it out but it gets more difficult each day. Can one of you tell me if that group will graduate on 10/4 or 10/11???
