My son offically left for boot camp today. There was a small chance that he would not get to ship out today due to some paperwork problems, but apparently that was cleared up and now is plane is due to land at O'Hare in about an hour.

I can honestly say that today has been one of the very hardest days of my life with the exception of the day my Mom died. I have tried to stay strong for our 6 yr old daughter, but even at that, I have had my times of breaking down.

When I do not feel sad, I start to feel guilty for trying to accept life as it is now and going on. It has really been a catch 22 day for me.

I will say that my hubby and friends on facebook have been Awesome....Especially my hubby. He has had his hands full with me and our little one and yet he has been very understanding and patient with both of us.

I've watched the videos, but yet I still wonder what my son's night/day is going to be like once he gets off the plane at O'Hare.

The letter writing will begin tomorrow for sure.

I've already warned my hubby that about the time I start dealing with everything decently, our son's box will come and I will be right back to where I am now. Thankfully, he says he understands that and is okay with it.

Tomorrow is my birthday....I'm praying that it will be a decent day and that I'm able to be very positive and not sit around and wish that our son was here with me.

Off to wait for my phone call.

My son also left today and am waiting by the phone as I write this hoping for the "I'm here" phone call. Hang in there and know that we all are here for you anytime you need anything.  Here is hoping that your birthday is wonderful and know that your son will be thinking of you as much as you are thinking of him. Happy Birthday!!

Here's how I describe being a Navy Mom.  They got on a roller coaster in the front seat, and we're sitting in the back with our seat belt buckled hanging on for dear life!  We roll with the coaster, up and down, upside down.  Laughing, crying, screaming.  Sometimes it's scary, sometimes it's beautiful, but we can always see our son's head and know that he's serving his country, so we are always proud.
