Night time is cruel! I lie in bed and my brain turns on. Last night I started to think that this time in two weeks, my boy will be off to find himself. He leaves a boy but returns (somewhere down the road) a man. The tears turned on and I thought, "here we go". I hate going down that path; the path of pity party. However, there I was! Thankfully, it was a short trip. I was able to find refuge in slumber.

He says he is getting "itchy feet". He wants to get moving. I understand his feeling of "short timers" that I often get at the end of the school year. I get anxious to start my teacher's summer time. Now, I am begging time to slow down and it is flying! He wants it to speed up! I think his wishes are winning. Part of me wants his boot camp days to start because then I will be that much closer to seeing him at PIR. What an exciting day that will be!

School starts the week after he leaves, thank goodness. I will be busy busy busy. Before the first grading period is over, I will see my man-child again. I hold on to that and it eases these feelings of sadness. I am so proud of him. The Navy sure is lucky to have such a young man!

In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Kid, you'll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So....get on your way!

2 Weeks. Here we go...

On the New Moms Stop Here we have permanent reference pages (located just underneath all the member icons). You can always access this information. We have a sample of the Form letter, a survival guide with videos, tips on how to use this site, links to list of N4M groups, link to the RTC, acronyms. Plus there will be people who will check in from time to time if you have a question. Furthermore, our panel of advisers are available if there is something that needs to be addressed on a private basis.

Pity parties going on occasionally over here too but I'm noticing lately they are turning more to thoughts of how proud I am of my son for following in his father's footsteps and joining the Navy. Letting go was sooooooooo hard, but the anticipation of finding out what kind of man he'll turn into is slowly winning over everything else - even missing him- lol and am just very anxious for PIR!!!
