I got my first few letters from Tim today and I wanted to share how he is doing...

He got the Master at Arms position which is a very good thing! Says it comes with a little bit more freedom and he does not have to clean, just has to make sure the other recruits do what they are suppose to.... Said the Chief told the other guys in his DIV that if Tim gives an order it may as well come from him [the chief] and they better listen! He is so excited about that! Says he has made a good impression on the RDC's.

He says there are already some that are ready to quit, and at this point it was still only processing week....he said there alot of younger guys that just keep talking and/or forgetting stuff therefore causing them to all have extra
PT, then it causes them all to complain.... (yeah he's a bit frustrated)

He talks about how much he misses me, and cant wait for this to be over, but he tries not to think too much
about it so not to lose focus. He went to the SDA church program, and enjoyed it, said it helped with the sad feelings.

Apparently he has not gotten any of my letters yet, because he kept telling me to write.... BUT I have been writing...

but it might take a bit longer for him to get his letters.... the formal letter from the Navy with his address had that he was SHIP 09 DIV 074 but his envelopes and in his letters he tells me he is DIV 073.... so hopefully they can track him down and get him all his letters!

Overall he is doing good.... feeling a bit sad, and very frustrated with the young guys that are not focused.... (My husband is 29, so much older than most...)

Ditto on what Connie says.........my oldest was Yeoman for his boot camp division.  He was also older than others (24).  I remember his letters said exactly the same thing.  But, as Connie said, he is a good role model for the younger ones to look up to and they all eventually come together.   Keep us posted!
