What a crazy day ahead!  So many weekends with not much to do (except of course housework) and now BAM!  Scramble time!  An auction (hopefully that 8-foot enclosed trailer will be ours!), moving a friend, 2 benefit events, city-wide garage sale, bonfire...and housework.  :)

Our daughter went to prom 2 weeks ago, and I did not recognize the young woman coming down the stairs.  I truly a got an eye-full of what the days ahead will bring.  One of them being that a wonderful adult is just around the corner.

Her recruiter and her finally connected.  She'll be signing her "Letter of Intent" in June.  And then starts the times of lasts...Last time to be on the softball team, last time she'll be home for the 4th, last time she'll be working at Bluesfest, last time she'll be swimming on the team, last time she'll be preforming with the choir.   All of which we'd be going through anyway.  But I think it'll be more precious for us since (as a very WISE Navy4Moms brought to light) she WON'T be home on weekends or holidays, she WON'T just be a car-trip away.  And even if she was, she WON'T be available on a whim.

A few things I'm still concerned about.  One being she hasn't started running yet.  I've been biting my tongue because I know that this is her decision, and she needs to want it.  This is her time.  And the triumphs & consequences are hers to have.  And this is VERY VERY hard for me.  I am trying to focus on what she IS doing, so I don't turn into a harpy:  She is working on her situps, pushups and upper body strength.  She HAS gotten down to a great weight (5 under what is listed for her height), she has went to a bunch of websites to read up on the Navy, diving, bc.    A mother's dream though is that their daughter/son is UBER-prepared and a SUPER achiever!  More, more, better, stronger!  (Calm down Mom...she'll be fine).

Dear Father God, please guide our mouths, our steps, our emotions in the days ahead.  Take away the panic and fear that is in my heart and replace it with the surety of your loving providence.  Help us to support our daughter and to be encouraging and loving. To not waste these days with yelling or control-issues.  And forgive me when I do.  Amen.

Hey G,

Your beautiful words brought tears to my eyes!!  You really do have a good understanding of how to support your girl and not stress the relationship between the two of you.  She will do fine, and as long as she is working out she shouldn't have any problem with the run.  Plus she is an athlete so that is in her favor also.  I stressed Catherine's run so much before she left and then realized that they have so many times to practice it in bootcamp that I really didn't need to nag about it.  I know Cat's physical assessment will be a little more demanding because of the dive program, but just keep praying for her and she'll do what she needs to do to be successful!!!  Remember, I'm here for you when all those "lasts" starts manifesting that lump in your throat!!!!

So glad you saw Fr. Mike and he knows who I was talking about!!!!!!  Tell him hi for me next time you guys are shopping together!!!!!

Love and prayers,

Anna

You bet it is!  She used a dress her Gma made her as for a wedding she was in 2 years ago.  So I splurged a little for the hair.  :)  Thanks for the kind words Anna.  And thank you for the WISE words a month ago.  :)
