I'm SO sorry you missed the call, when my son was in the same thing almost happened to me!  I would have been devestated too!  He should be able to call again soon.

I am so sorry to read this.  It made me cry for you!  I know you are devastated.  Isn't it the way it always goes?  You are waiting for an important call, leave the phone for two seconds, and it comes!  My thoughts are with you...

Aw thanks so much everyone...Does anyone know when he'd be able to call next? How do calls work?

and Mrs. Bern, advice for you 1 week in..just write to him, or just try and keep yourself busy. I  got my first letter the end of my 2nd week in. it was amazing, really the best feeling and definitely worth the wait. I got my first call today and its his 4th week in. I just tried to make myself be around friends, and talk about it when you need to talk about it because you don't want everything to be bottled up you know? Make blogs on here..thats what i do!

Don't,feel bad, I to just missed my sons first call, I was sooo upset at myself, I missed it by 10 min. I have been in touch with him all day,one of my last phone calls from him was that he just landed in Chicago and he was on his way to GL. when I looked at my phone I saw a miss call and here'd his message, I just fellt my heart drop and tears just rolled down my face. I feel guilt that I was not there for him. I hope he calls again soon, but I doubt it. I walk into his room and all I want to do is cry.
