Well, I managed to make it through the second day of Bug's absence.  If you remember, I couldn't sleep last night... I finally dozed at around 5 a.m.... Of course, I have to leave for work by 6:45...Did NOT happen.  LOL.  I spend most of the time exploring the N4M site.  What a great place!  I'm still overwhelmed with it all...but have thankfully found women to share the journey.

I worked almost 11 hours today...ugh!  But it also meant I did a pretty good job being distracted... Except of course, for the kind observations of co-workers that knew where I was yesterday... reassuring hugs and gentle smiles.  Honestly, though, what made the day bearable was YOU!  I get an email alert when someone posts something.  So, I got gently "buzzed" throughout the day by your encouraging words!  HA!  Thank you!

I think the hardest part for me right now is not wondering when "the box" will arrive or even if he'll be able to call in a couple weeks... Waiting for "the letter" stinks!  I feel a little off keel because I don't know how many Pdays he'll have...So I don't dare start counting down the days or trying to imagine exactly what he's going through right now.  I need to attach my son to his new duty station....need to tie his apron strings someplace new.

I'm okay tonight.... I think... But goodness, I hope I get the hang of this soon.... Is he still awake?.....

I know how you feel my son Zac just left this past weekend 2/26/12. The wondering and worrying is pretty bad right now and I hardly slept the past couple of weeks before he left.  The box arrived the other day at his Dad and stepmom's place. She said it was very emotional receiving it. I can only image.  I'm not sure sure I would have wanted to be the person opening it and realizing they didn't even let him keep the list of addresses for everyone. Now we are waiting for the letter providing us with his address so we can start writting to him.  There are times like right now that I just ache to see him and touch him.  It is about that time his 3 yr old brother starts asking for him so we cry together and then his 15 yr old sister says "Mom he is coming back!" LOL Im really glad N4M is here it really helps knowing that I'm not nuts.

lovemybug, My son left to Great Lakes Bootcamp on March 1st. I was reading your posts and it looks like your son left the same day. I have been feeling the same way that you have. You are not alone. Its only been 2 days and it feels like forever. I wonder if our sons will be in the same graduating class?

Zac left Lancaster, Pa and the spent the night close to the airport in Harrisburg, Pa on the February 26.then on the 27th they bused him to Baltimore, Md Airport and flew from there around 4:30 pm.  His Dad got the phone call that he made it around midnight.  I'm not sure how close they have to arrive to be in the class but I would think it is possible that they would be. While just looking to verify dates I realized I still have a bunch of his texts in my phone, it sounds dumb I just sat here and read threw them.  Apparently I don't delete them very often I have texts that go back threw the end of December.  I won't be deleting them anytime soon. Today is a week since we left him at the recruiting office.  Hopefully this Wednesday we will get our letter.  I hope you get yours soon too at least then we can start sending our guys letters.

My son left March 1st as well.  I have good days and I have bad days, but N4Ms has really helped.  I also found Navy Moms on facebook.  I haven't had a full nights sleep since he left.  I haven't received his form letter yet with his address, but it helps to write anyways and number the letters so you know what order to mail them.

I have actually been dating them.  After the first couple of letters I realized I didn't know what order I had written them in. We now have the letter and I have been writing as often as possible.  His little brother's daycare class are drawing pictures to send him.  I plan on doing some coloring tonight with him send to his big brother.  We now have the reservations made and plans for driving out. Now it is just waiting to hear from him.
