Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi new member, my son is currently on a plane on his way to boot camp. My husband and I have cried, for two days, and today wasn't any better. I do not know much about the process, kind of hanging out there as well. I'm waiting to hear from my son later, as they are given an opportunity to briefly call family.

Hi sweetpeasmom, thank you for responding. Like you and your husband I have shed my fair share of tears. I dropped my son off yesterday and he left today for Great Lakes, he arrived there this afternoon. I did receive his call, and of course I had to hold back tears. The next 8 to 9 weeks couldn't come soon enough.

Hi Judy, my son's PIR is 26Feb, he left 05Jan. I can tell you that it goes by fast. I think the hardest part is the times when you hear nothing. Being on this site has saved me. Even when I do not hear from my son, it's nice to hear when the other's mom's/gfs/wives do, and what they have to share about what the kids are doing. Keep your friends and family close, and reach out to us on the site when you're feeling down. It has been a savior for me. :)

Hi Judy I am also a new member my son arrive at boot camp last night and it has been a basket full of emotions....Just waiting on the Box and letter to arrive so I can start sending the letters that I have already started writing....

Hi tatbama, I completely understand about the emotions flowing (literally). This is really the first time my son has left home and I find it very difficult. Like you I have started writing him and waiting for his box to arrive and his letter. I returned back to work yesterday so at least during the day I can concentrate on something else (even though he's always on my mind)

Hi! I am also a new member. I had two sons who arrived at bootcamp on
January 26th. I have already started writing letters to them, just waiting on an address to mail. I sure miss seeing their faces and hearing their voices. Is there a special section to go for the Moms who's sons arrived this month? I briefly remember seeing it before becoming a member, just can't seem to find it now.
