Airfare booked?  Check!  Hotel confirmed?  Check!  Rental car reserved?  Check!  Ready to go and see my son?  Double Check!!   I'm so excited!!  Things are falling into place - Made it through the tough days, with help from family, friends and Navy Moms!!  Received the box, and finally the form letter and now feel like I'm in a little more control LOL.

My son has been gone from home for 15 days and I've already written as many letters!  I mailed the bulk of them off on Saturday morning, after receiving confirmation of his address on Friday night.  Since then, I've been to the post office (more stamps), the dollar store (GREAT miss you cards for...you guessed it, $1), gathered the requested pictures, and printed off his stats on fantasy football.  Its so helpful to have SOMETHING concrete to look forward to :)  Makes me appreciate  the wonderful, caring man he is, all the more.  Still funny to write MAN - he's 19 and still looks 16!  But evidenced by his very grown up decision to join the Navy and serve his country, he is a man.  And I'm honored to be his mom!

Debi!!! You sound so much better than you did 15 days ago! Didn't I tell you that once you'd be able to send letters to him that you would feel a lot better? Time will start to fly once you start receiving letters. You'll mark the time by the day you get his letters. My day is on Wednesday. I picture him writing on Sunday, time flies to Wednesday, I get my letter and then time flies again to Sunday. With only 3 weeks left, I'll only get 2-3 more letters. That's ok because then I'll be able to hug him!!! Warm Hugs!!!

Yes, you did :)  And it is wonderful - I feel even more pride as each day goes by :)
