I was also looking for a nice place for dinner...  any suggestions from the seasoned moms??  My SR graduates 9/14.  Never wanted to rush my children's lives but these next 4 weeks need to pass quickly.  We begin a week at the Jersey shore on 8/25 and then the whilwind begins of school starting.  A week and a half later we leave for Chicago...  I was lucky that I did get to talk to him and the letters keep coming but we can't wait to see him!!!!  As I know you all can appreciate...

We had lunch @ Ditka's in downtown Chicago. She wanted a good steak and they had it. Wandered around the restaurant looking at the Bears memoribilia while we waited for our meal. Great service but pricey. Also had pizza @ Giordanno's.

Kathleen what is your son's ship and div?  My son graduates on 9/14.  Just curious I have not heard from my son yet.

Andrea he is ship 14 division 291... I can't believe you haven't heard anything!!!  I can't imagine how you feel..  we just got another call on Saturday that was unexpected but he has been an altar server for catholic mass every sunday since he arrived and I think they rewarded him for that.  I will keep you in my prayers that you get a call...  hang on...  we are getting closer to seeing them.  When I spoke to my son Chris he said that they do have some tough things coming up but he is having a blast...  starting "graduation practice". etc.  He was very animated and excited about the next few weeks.  keep us posted!!!!

Which Giordanno's is the closest, do you know?  My son wants pizza so Ithink this will be a good choice but there are so many of them!!  Also, do you know if they have adult beverages?  No biggie, just wondering :)

We arrived in Waukegan Thursday before PIR. We had lunch at the one in Gurnee and our daughter wanted pizza so we had dinner there the night of PIR. We were lucky that she didn't leave Chicago until Sunday so we and an extra day with her. Be sure to have batteries ready for your camera. You'll take a thousand pictures. lol. Such a great time.
