WHAT A GREAT DAY! My Best Friend Called.

It was totally unexpected.  We didn't expect to hear from him today.  We thought it would be another week, that we would get a letter before a phone call.  When I herd "Hey...Mom?" my heart skipped a beat.  He sounded good and seemed to be adjusting well.  Especially having only been in Boot for 15 days.  I still miss him like crazy ,but I'm glad for him.  Its the first time since high school graduation that I think he has really been happy.  He secure in the knowledge that he has his future in hand.  He has the direction he so needed.  I love him so very much.

I also heard from my daughter today. She is on Ship 9, Div 225 I received the call while I was at work and had to get someone to take over. SHe told me she only had 10 minutes and I didn't want to lose any of those precious moments. She sounded good also, except she kept sniffing. She said there had been a virus going around and she had a cold.. Just hearing her voice made me feel a lot better.

Thank you for the comments.  Ive got to learn to calm down when I receive a call or letter.  When I got the form letter with his hand writing on the envelope  and I knew the address to write to him was in it, I tore into it like a child on Christmas morning.  Once I calmed down I realized that I had all but destroyed the envelope getting it open.  Then when we got that call Saturday morning (not Sunday like some info tells you it will come) we had him on speaker so his father and brother brother could hear too.  Its a good thing to because after the call was over, I had to ask them questions about what he said. Its funny because its true. LOL

Roeheidi I understand how you feel believe me.  J and I were practically inseparable. Also take my advice, just because you think that first call is gonna come on the third Sunday, that's not always so.  Since then, my phone is in my pocket at all times.  We don't have a land line so  where I go that phone goes.
