Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."
**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED. Vaccinations still required.
**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

No I have not taken the Asvab I planned on taking it when I get on Christmas Break which will be in about a month! As for rate I wouldn't mind MA or MC, or YN theres alot of choices I'd like!
Umm not many questions really, thanks for the warm welcome! I'm just trying to make it through my girlfriends bootcamp and eventually I'll b serving as well in about 9 months so I've been putting in time to research myself!

Thanks! My son left for bootcamp November 1st. Watching him go was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Very proud, but heart wrenching at the same time. Any information you have to offer would be great.
Thank you for your words. I know that God will take care of him. I have know for a while that he would join and I am so proud of him for making that decision. I hope to finds new frinds on this site that we can all help each other....I think it helps our children be able to go do what they need to knowing that their families have support from others in the same situation. He's an ET aboard the USS Stockdale stationed in San Diego. He may come home for Christmas. Are there also groups by county? Where is your child stationed? My son, Adam, really likes the Navy. But I feel like I don't know many details as a family should. I would love to feel more in touch with what he's doing and experiencing. More info about if I want to visit him in San Diego after he comes back from deployment, etc....
My son is graduating Nov 18th from OCS. There is a himoms event the evening before. Is this a dinner or what? If so what is the appropriate dress for this occasion?
