Thanks! This info is really helpful. I didn't even realize my schooling would be that long! I'm very excited though! Thanks again for your help.

Hi, Mary, thanks so much for the welcome. My son, Bo (nickname), is stationed at Point Mugu, California. He is an AEAN for the VAW 116 Sun Kings and has been doing this for 3 years. Says he might make a career of it.

thanks so much mary! I am supposed to be leaving July 12th, but I've requested to leave earlier. I hope to be back by September for my daughter's first birthday. Does your son like his job? Does he have a family, and if so, does he get to see them much?

Mary,
Hi again. We have not received a grad packet yet. We have the four people that will be going to the ceremony. Where can we turn in the names , and will we be mailed the tickets?

Will a drivers license be enough ID or do we need passports?
I am so nervous and excited at the same time.
Was kinda disappointed that I did not hear from my son for Mothers day..oh well he belongs to the Navy now. I want to make reservations today, but still don't know if he is a grad and go yet. Hope to hear from you soon

Hello and thank you! I am not sure yet if he is going to be fc or et. If he has found out he just has not had the opportunity to let me know yet. I am hoping for a call either Wednesday or Thursday. I am just so excited it is finally getting close. SIGH.....sure has taken long enough.

Thanks for the wlecome. My husband is an FC. We just got to Virginia (again) last week. His last command was Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific in Pearl Harbor, HI. Before that, he was on a ship stationed at Naval Station Norfolk. This will be his third pre-commission ship.

Yep Mary - career is his plan ... at least for now - once he gets married (after he gets back from Iraq), that could change but he has talked about being career since he was about 10!
I imagine you are having a hard time liking your son-in-law right about now. :) We actually were talking about moving to north Georgia to be in the mountains, but even 3-4 hours away from the first grandbaby seems too far away right now. LOL - of course, depending on how many times we get the "can you babysit tonight?" phone call, that may change!

Hey Mary! Bryan will hit his 5-year mark in August. You're right, time sure does fly by. It seems like just yesterday he and his brothers were playing "manhunt" in the backyard! Today he's deployed and engaged, our middle son is making us grandparents in Sept. and our youngest son came in yesterday afternoon and announced that he had gone to see the Air Force recruiter and had decided that he will go AF reserves, college and then go in as an Lt.

Mary,
Just wanted to let you know we got a second letter from our guy yesterday. Too happy for words. He did say that he may be in a grad and go class? Does that mean as soon as the ceremony is over they will leave for their next post?
We still want to go to the graduation, but this sort of put a damper on it. This is not a certain thing yet, he just was keeping us up on info he has gotten. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for the lesson.....it is all very confusing right now...I'm sure I will get the hang of it in no time. After BC he will be heading to Nuke school. I am not sure what he will be after that. I will have to pull all of the paper work and look it over. Will let you know when I find out.

Mary,
Thanks for the response.
No grad packet yet.
One letter and one phone call. I have read that letter so many times.
Love reading all the posts. Thanks for sharing, I feel connected to other Navy families now.

Time really does fly! We will definitely be there for graduation ceremony! Wouldn't miss it. I believe he will be E-3. I am sure I will have plenty of questions for everyone. Thank you for all your encouragement and well wishes. BTW....My husband and I celebrate 25 years of marriage this December. Ben is the first of four and we are still learning as we go.

Mary, Thank you for the welcome.
If all goes well my son will graduate May21.
This has probably been asked many times....how many guests are each candidate allowed at the ceremony?
We would like to start making travel plans for our trip to Great Lakes.
Thank you
