OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 6/23/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED -  Vaccinations still required

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, such as change 4, so read and consider each of the changes.

My son is in Ship 07/Div 128.  Hang in there, you will get your letter.  I was getting anxious and then I got 3 at one time.  It works the other way too because my son complained he wasn't get any mail (we sent tons) and then he got a whole bunch together.  Boy is it hard in between hearing though.  This one is my baby - the last to leave home.  What a way to sever the apron strings!

Hello new friend!

I didn't even ask who is bunk mate was but I know I've asked that in a letter.  We are staying at the Navy Lodge.  Since my SR is going across the street to A school I wanted to be as close to base as possible so we could pick him up at a moments notice for Liberty that weekend.

I am disappointed that we won't be able to make the meet & greet, our plane doesn't land until 8pm Thursday night :(

I'm waiting for another letter this weekend as well.  My SR did mention that the large envelope I sent him was already full of letters he's received and that he was sending it home today.  He asked me for another envelope to put letters he's received in and more labels (I had printed up labels with his address and for family to make his mailing easier).

Hi jbr, I was thinking about my conversation with my SR yesterday and one of the questions I asked him was if he had made any friends in his division.  He said he was hanging around with someone from Alabama and Georgia.  I occurred to me this morning that you are from Alabama.  I wish they had more time to talk yesterday, there were so many questions I had for him and they all flew out the window when I saw the phone number come across my phone.

Wishing  you a great weekend!  Katheeh
