All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."
**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED. Vaccinations still required.
**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Hi Linda! My son Brandon is heading to Jacksonville on Tuesday and then on to boot camp the following day. I have such mixed emotions right now. This is something Brandon's always wanted and I'm so proud of him, but I miss him already. Love your photos!
Thank you so much for responding to my email and sorry that it took so long to get back to you! The information you gave was exactly what I was looking for!!! My husband is older as well being 26, but we have both graduated from college and have a little girl. Really never thinking that he would go back to what he wanted to do 10 years ago but never followed through. LOL. So here we are and I am ready for the journey and very proud of him for wanting to do this! I will keep in touch! Where did your son go to A School? My husband leaves in February and the time is flying by. Also, we love Chicago but where did you guys stay when he was graduating any info you can give me about that?

Hey Linda, I have not rec'd a hand written letter from Caleb yet. I keep checking the mailbox everyday, nothing. I guess he's just really tired or just not having the time to sit and write. Or in trouble and not getting priviledges. I would hate that was the case. He's great grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon and I'm struggling as to whether or not to tell him.. I'd like to wait til graduation or perhaps at his phone call. I don't want him to be thinking of sad news from home and not concentrating with his job there. I enjoyed your pics, such happy times to remember and more to come. Have a great day.
Hi Linda, Welcome. My son Caleb is in the same PIR date as yours. His SHIP is 9 Div 224, Second wk of BC as well. I want to hear from him so badly. This site has been so amazing for me. It truly has gotten through it. Caleb will be going to school in GL after BC for electrician
