Thanks! He graduates on Friday. I think he is going to be an ET. The recruiter told him FC, but I think they changed it during boot camp. I'll find out this weekend. Either way, I'm proud of him. I'll be there for graduation too! Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to meeting everyone!
Wow! Thanks so much for the info. My son and I are not together. I am in Oakland and "He who is impatient to go" is on Maui. Your comment has lifted me up as son is too frustrated at this time to share. John, my son, is a computer guy. He even supported himself as a graphic designer. I will join the site you referenced and get my own information. Thanks so much.
I appreciate your welcome. I do apologize for it taking so long to get back to you! I have been busy and haven't had the time to check the site out yet!
Thank you so much for the comments. Looks like this is a great place for a support group, can't wait for RTC, but I don't leave for 5+ months. It can't come soon enough.
Thanks for having me and taking the time to write me. I'm a strong believer of Networking! My favor motto always has been since I was a child: "Together We Stand and Divided We Fall". My son sailor, is very excited about the Navy, guess what-- I'm excited for him and proud of him too. Because he chose to go up the positive road of life and control his future and destiny. See, that's Good News!
Thanks for the invite! Is there more info about the get together?? My son was just inducted at USNA on July 1. He is going through plebe summer now. I'm looking forward to a letter or the call on July 11. How do you handle all the "waiting to hear"? I'm thinking this is a good time to lean on Jesus and His care for my boy.
Wow. Geez that's way earlier than I'd expect orders. That's awesome. No children for us yet. We are young. Too young for babies. LOL. Buuttt he's really hoping for Hawaii. My brother is in the air force and stationed over there. I'd be really happy for Florida (we are originally from Louisiana so it would be a 10 hour drive home.). As far as I understand he's in the radar program.
Thanks for the welcome! I have been so busy trying to move to GL.PIR weekend was 6/4 and ive been crazy.Im sure i will be looking to you for answers you are all so great here Thank you!!!!!
Hi Mary, Sorry I'm just getting back with you. Thanks for the info on ACEF. I'm looking forward to my son beginning his A school and I'm about sure he is too. Just need to get through BC first. That in itself is a hurdle. Just to be able to talk to him more would be great. I see that you are in Marietta. We live in Acworth. Would love to meet sometime for coffee or lunch.Hope to talk with you soon
Wow, thanks for the quick welcome! Our son PIR'd two weeks ago today. He just call about an hour ago and sounded pretty chipper. He classed up today and will start class (ET) on Monday. He's enjoying having more space and more latitude. Imagine being happy to have a mini fridge and a microwave! (and of course the laptop and cell phone!) He mentioned that they had a storm earlier and from the Weather Channel it looked like another was on it's way into GL. His dad was Army (band) back in the day so they're having fun ribbing each other about why their branch is better! Should be fun for the Arm/Navy game! I've chatted with a few of the OK N4Ms and am going to meet with some of them for the first time for lunch in July. I'm really looking forward to that.
We had a blast walking around with our new sailor on Navy Pier and at 6 Flags. We had two couples thank him for his service and our sacrifice. That was very nice of them.
This is a whole new world for us!
