OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

A little about me:
Hey-ya.
I'm not a mom.
My boyfriend left for BC on November, 15th, 2011.
There's a lot of...things that went down when he joined on March 10th, 2011. These last eight months have been long and hard, and I know it'll only get worse from here, after he leaves.
UPDATE: He's been gone for a little over a week, and I find I'm okay, it's not him being gone that worries me...it's the possible changes that could arise in him. When he left, he was still my emotional, loving boyfriend, and I have the greatest fear they will harden him, and he will never be the same again.... ..anyone have any comfort for me on this situation?..
We're getting married on July 7th, 2012. While he's at BC, I will be planning it, and I'm hoping it'll help keep my mind off of things.

Otherwise, I'm rather friendly. Anyone can feel free to message me for any reason~
I am here to support my

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was concerned or afraid
The Navy offers opportunities that...
I really haven't been part of it long.
I have always been sort of bitter towards recruiters, and my "Navy Experience" thus far has only made me dislyke them that much more so.

Anyone affiliated with a Yeoman that has any useful information (regarding their work after AIT, their stations, or general information) that would be willing to share it with me, please feel free to send me a message or leave me a comment, it would be greatly appreciated.

So very sorry for the loss of your wonderful bf/SR.  I know it has been over a year now since he passed away at bootcamp, and I hope that you are doing ok.  Our hearts are with you and his family....

The Christmas Wish

Posted on December 17, 2011 at 9:08pm 0 Comments

"What do you want for Christmas?"

Santa Claus asked me

I looked at him and laughed

"What I want isn't cheap."

The big  man chortled, "Ho-ho-ho!"

And looked me in the eye,

"Try me." He said with confidence

As I started to cry.

"My Love's arms around me,

Lying next to me at nyte

His hand in my own

Warm, and cuddled up real tight."

Jolly Olde Saint Nicholas clapped me on the back

My boy left on November 15th.

His PIR date is January 20th..

I've been pretty okay.

Dealing with the fact that he isn't here.

That's not what gets me.. (Not yet, anyway.)

...what I'm scared of?

..change.

My boy is the most emotional, sensitive, loving (, amazing) that I have ever met, with the most goofy, idiotic personality. We've been dating for almost 3 years.

I'm just so fearful...

..I don't want BC to harden him, to make him into an…
