OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Kathleen,  My son is just finishing his A school at Great Lakes.  He got put back in school because he got sick and missed too many classes so he had to wait for the next group to catch up to where he left off.  He will be leaving for Dam Neck, Va on the 24 or the 25.  He will be there for about 3 months and the he will be stationed in San Diego, Ca on the USS cape St. George.  When is your son's PIR?  If you have any questions just ask I will help you in any way I can.  I tried to send my son a card everyday, it didn"t always happen.  But, if you can find funny things to send your son in a card, my son said that it really helped him.  Also just keep encouraging your son, that way the two of you are kind of in this together.  I know you are sad right now but it will get alittle better.  The moms here are so wonderful, stay in touch with all of us.  Look for the group that is your son's PIR, I connecked with several moms there and got to meet them at PIR, it was GREAT!!  Hope to hear from you soon.
