Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am doing so much better since the call.. I was a little surprised, as well, that they weren't further along. Tyler was looking forward to the upcoming gas exposure.. What a nut!! Lol
I see that you are in Friendswood. We are familiar with the marching band there, from state competitions. Was your son a member?

Hi Melanie! My name is Renea. My son, Tyler, is in div 948 also. My husband and I got our first phone call from him Sunday!! We were soooo excited! He sounded great! How was your son? Also, how are you holding up?

Greyson called me Sunday!  I was driving listening to one of his favorite songs and crying and then the phone rang and it was him!!  I had to pull over!!  He is doing good!  He said he wants letters everyday instead in just one envelope.  He likes it when they call out his name for mail!  Did Nathen tell you that their DIV is called the triple threat division??  The 900 division are basically the leaders of BC.  I thought that was awesome.  And Greyson, who is a drummer from the age of three, has been put on the drum line playing base drum!!  I was so happy to hear that!!!

Greyson will also being to Florida.  He originally applied for a CTN position but it was not available so he decided to go with Aviation Technician.  About a month before he left a spot opened up so they transferred him to CTN.  He got very lucky because that is what he really wanted.

So how are you liking this site??  I love it.  And my son is the one who actually told me about it.  It's been a big help being able to talk to Moms that are in the same boat and to the ones that have done this before and can answer questions.
