The Navy offers opportunities that...
She made a great choice! She was scheduled to leave 8/17/2011, but after she turned 18 on may 22, they asked if she was ready to go in a moments notice she said YES &signed a form stating, as long as it was her same job...and well they went kidding, they called her tues 6/28 at 9am - she checked in to the hotel at 5:30 (we took her to dinner) she had final check in around 8pm and on June 29th we met her at meps to watch her officially become a NAVY girl....best quote was when the army officer said "Recuites enjoy your duty because while we get bug spray you get sunscreen!" we got the 1st 15sec call around 11pm (our time) she said, "Not hearing from me for 3 weeks is good that means Im not hurt..."shes so tough! i am so proud!

Hi there! It was great meeting you and Britt (though it seems weird calling her that when Sam still refers to her as Jeffrey). I am glad the girls had eachother though boot camp. Sam said she got to hang out with her the other day when they were both off base. Hopefully they will stay in tough through their travels. They share a special time in their life that should be treasured.

I don't know about you; even though I am incredable proud I miss my baby like crazy! I have a 3 yr old at home but still feel the "empty nest". Can't wait for Christmas!

Take Care!!

OH if you have pics of Sam & Britt can you send to me? I would like to add to the scrap book & I putting together. Thanks!!!

We aren't sure of the Battlestations schedule right now.  I had sent one out, but don't think it is correct now.  Thinking the first part of PIR week for this division.  Please message if you hear of a date for this division!  That is how we get the info...from the SRs themselves. Thanks!

That was a good idea to write you letters ahead of time.  Still no word from my daughter.  I would love and cherish even a 1 sentence letter right now.  I am getting a little too anxious.  LOL  I thought I read where some people have already received phone calls.  This has me worried that my daughters group has not earned it or lost the priviledge.  Hoping to get a letter this week.

You have two daughters in? Oh my.  and when you mean official letter do you mean a personal letter or the form letter that talks about the date of the PIR?  I am so jealous if it is a personal letter but happy for you.

Hi Thanks for sending the friend request.  I remember seeing you and your daughter at MEPS the day they left.  I think our daughters are already friends. I remember them smiling at one another when everyone was snapping pictures.  My name is Lori  :) Nice to meet you.  I see that you are going to the bbq in Walnut Creek.  I was thinking about it too but dont know yet.  I was so happy yesterday when we got the form letter.  Now I can mail her all my letters.  Hope to talk more soon      Lori

Ok, so what is your really name?  Mine is Jody

I am an old timer.  My son left right after high school in 97.

My kids all went to Del Campo.

Having lunch would be lovely, however we are on manditory overtime here in my office, so getting out is not happening anytime soon.  But I will keep lunch in mind for when I have lunches again.

We can always meet in the evenings or on weekends.  Several of us are always up for a last minute go for coffee thing!  These are a great group of ladies.  Some of my best friends are mom's that I have met through my son's Navy career.

Hope you can come on the 16th.  Just look for the ladies making all the noise.  We are a lively group!

I feel like I already know you.

So how are you holding up?  Did you husband serve in the military?

Office number is 916-808-5497 and home is 916-967-5015
