Hi Jennifer.  I am so touched by your son's gift to you, he sounds like a wonderful young man and obviously wants you there.  Is there anything I can do to help?

Glad to be friends - after all we are all in this together.  I knew boot camp would be rough on the recruits but never realized how hard it would be on us :Moms".

Yes I did Jennifer thank you for checking.  She wrote me a lil note too saying she was being left in p-holding for a week and going to her ship saturday. They were waiting for more girls to arrive or something. And her PIR is scheduled for 04-20, not the 27th like I assumed it would be.

You can only send someone a private message if you are their "Friend".

The easiest way to do it is:

Click on the Profile Picture of the person you want to friend.

It will take you to there Page.

When you get there look at their Profile pic at the far left. Directly underneath it will say "Add as Friend" Click it. You can just send it or yaou can add a short personal message and then send.

Once they accept they will appear on your Page under "Friends".

I am going to send you a message...look to the right column under your username at the status box. nce it arrives your "Inbox" will say (1new) next to it.

I don't have an info on that rating. Your son probably didn't get a chance to join the NavyDep.com site before you left. That site is created and run by Craig who was a Navy guy and has a son in the Navy. He is my go-to man on a lot of info. Send him a friend request and ask him if he has anything. Here is the link to his profile.

Craig

Alternatively you could join the following group and post a question - perhaps more vet members will be able to answer. He is one of our advisers.

We have a Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (clickable link). You'll find everything you need to get started. Videos, PDF files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups plus tips on how to use this site. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening. Be patient. Best part is it'll be here on your very own page as a reference. Click the MY PAGE tab on above menubar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any postings on your comment wall (like this one). Good luck.
