OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Patti,

My son is at Great Lakes in basic with the 151.  Haven't heard from him about a problem.  I just talked to his girlfriend and she says he has bee sick.

I hate not being able to call and check on him but after 23 years as an Army wife I guess I am pretty used to it.

Patti,

with the help of some more experienced moms, I created a "timeline" for preparing for PIR, which is in the Discussion Forums of the PIR Reference Information group. Here's the link:  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pirreferenceinformation/forum/topics/timeline-to-follow-to-prepare
