While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

info on Prototype
Hello, need everyone's advice. My Nuke is in Prototype and says he will try and pass boards by graduation, if not able to take them before graduation he told me there will not be another ceremony? This did not seem right to me but what do I know so need your help with info on this. Every step of the way there was a ceremony. I have to ask off work etc... so need to know is this the norm? Thanks

We were literally at the gas station filling up to head to prototype graduation when our sailor called to say he did not pass oral boards and would not get to participate in ceremony(Wednesday afternoon. Driving from IL to NY for Friday ceremony) He was able to retake a few weeks later and pass. Point being, there are no guarantees. Another one of his roommates wasn't able to take his oral boards until after graduation because he had to retake something too.

So they don't have a graduation once/month? It is a set date and if you don't make it by then you do not get to participate in the next graduation? I guess that's dumb question because once you pass you are out and have to move on to your ship??

We had a couple more days notice, we hadn't left yet when we found out he had to retake his boards. We decided to go anyway as planned and spent the time with our son. He passed a week later and his orders were modified to give him an additional week to get to his boat. There was no next graduation to participate in:(

It is my understanding that because of the breakdown of the sub during the hurricane(s)..... things are not on schedule. I know that graduation is this Friday and our sailor does not even take his oral boards until Tuesday..so he will not attend the ceremony.

Hello, please tell me there is a graduation Friday? My recruit did not tell me the time?? I assumed it was still on @ Yorktown. Leaving early to be there. Can anyone help me to know if prototype graduation is still on?
