Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

How is a recruit's spot in A school affected if they don't graduate on time?
Does anyone have any experience with this or know how this might work. What happens if a recruit gets set back during BC either due to medical, being sick, injured or if they don't pass a certain portion of their training. I've seen several recruits get delayed either by a week or more in BC and they end up graduating in a different PIR than when they started.
If this happens what happens to their slot in A school training? Are they held back then for another training class to form for their particular rate? I think some of the rates don't always have classes starting every single week for their classes or do they?
If anyone can shed some light on how their place in class for their A school is affected by any training delays I would appreciate it.

Usually there is little effect, as many of the schools hold the sailors until there are enough to make up a complete class. The seat availability is much more critical before they ship to boot camp, but once they are in the process, there are hold times built in. It will work out.

got it!! Thanks for that info. I'm stressing a little for my daughter because she still has to pass her run and she is really worried about it. I believe their final PFA test that counts is in one week, and that is the only thing so far she still needs to pass, everything else she passed at the very beginning of boot camp. Her A school is at GL for Quartermaster and I wondered how often they start classes for that.

No worries. I failed my first run in boot camp, and they really helped me through. They WANT people to be successful sailors.
I am not sure how often QM classes up. In any case, be prepared for her to do some grunt work while waiting. Shoveling snow, sweeping, cleaning, painting. There is a reason the Navy doesn't hire janitors...
