This website has been so helpful. My son left on 3/29/2017. I have been such a mess, however reading the questions and stories has provided me so much comfort.

I'm right there with you Motherof3.  My son left 3/28 at 8pm.  Did you get the box already?

I have not! Have you?
Yes on Friday morning it was delivered. We're in Ohio so maI be closer than where you are. You should get it soon.
Ohhh I can't wait.. I will probably cry again but still can't wait.

You probably will.  I balled like a baby and held his dirty sweatpants for a while.  It gave me a feeling of him being isolated and alone.  His cell phone did come back home but they allowed him to keep the small engraved Bible, inspirational quote book and spiritual coin i sent.  Oh and i put wallet sized pics of the family and friends, which everyone wrote messages on the back of, inside the Bible pages and those didn't come back home either.  It's so hard, much harder than i expected so I'l so glad to have the support of other like you.  Lets stay in touch since our kids are so close in start dates, maybe they will graduate together.

I so agree we need to keep in contact.

I will talk to you sooner than later. Feel free to reach out to me as well.
I'm also right there with you also. I just got the box yesterday. Yours will probably come today or tomorrow. We can look forward to the form letter now. Xoxo take care. All we can do is hope and pray our babies will be alright.

You are absolutely correct.  Today has been a little hard for me.  It's his birthday week.  I will keep you posted.  Thanks

Mother of 3- did you get the box?

My son left for Great Lakes April 4th, I'm a mess and my husband is worse, how long before we get his address so we can start writing?
Susan, know that you're not alone, it is really tough. My son left on 28 March and out of the eight days he's been gone there's only been one where I haven't broke down and cried. And when I say cry I mean bawl like a baby. Each day does seem to get just a little bit easier but I think the biggest relief will come when we get there address. It's been a week for my son and I'm sorry to say I still don't have his address. I write him every morning and stick them in envelopes and stamp I'm ready to go so when I get his address I can send them all at once. It helps me get my thoughts and feelings out when I write him.
Sorry about typos, I talk to text
