For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Missed first phone call!
My boyfriend left for boot camp 3/29/2017 and I have been so completely lost without him. He is my absolute best friend, basically my only friend and he is gone. I've been focusing on homework and work and that seemed to be working for me. Until today, I decide to go bowling with my brother and his girlfriend since I haven't been out since my boyfriend left. I didn't use my phone at all for hours only to find out I had just missed his THREE phone calls to me. my heart is broken and i feel like such a horrible person. Just thinking of him waiting for me to pick up and not getting an answer is horrible. I'm always with my phone and the one time I'm not, this happens. Now it's only been one week and he was already granted a phone call. So I'm wondering if maybe this means his division is good and there will be more phone calls in the future, not just the 3 everyone says. I hope someone can help during this difficult difficult time.

Hey Dee! My SR left for bootcamp on 2/23 and that's how I felt too! I was emotionally attached to him and spent a lot of time with him, and once he left I was pretty upset :( Don't feel like a horrible person, there will be more opportunities for him to call you, and hopefully you'll have your phone those times. My SR hasn't called me once last month or this month yet, and his PIR is April 21. The only times I've communicated with him was when he sent me two letters a month into bootcamp. Just remember to keep yourself busy, once you start writing to him keep it positive! Once you keep yourself occupied time will pass by fast :)

Wow, must be super hard for you to not have heard from him in all that time. But OMG he's almost finished it's great to know that you have made it this far and his PIR is so so close. I'd like to update that he called again last week and I picked up this time!!!! It was the absolute best gift ever. Ever since that day I have been doing so much better. He told me he's already written me like 7 letters! So excited to get them in the mail! Thanks for your support :)

I was wondering if you can help with this question. Because his PIR is on may 26 which is MDW. How likely can it be for him to stay another day because of flight troubles. He is flying out to Pensacola for A school.

SOME of those flying to Pensacola sometimes fly on Sunday instead of on Saturday. It is not any more likely to happen that weekend than any other weekend because it is not a high flight weekend, but it could happen just as it cold happen any other weekend. Plan to leave on Sunday, just in case.

My son was in OCS and was granted a call after his first week. ( They won the privilege). I had my phone turned off overnight, because I knew noone was going to call, and he did! I listened to his recording and the sadness in his voice that I hadn't answered and felt horrible. I had my phone on me the next Sunday. ...all day. Was so happy to get a call!!!
