At our son's graduation from the Nuke Program (Prototype), a fellow mom told me of this group.  She said I could mention his ship in case there is already someone from in this group whose sailor is already there.  That way, the two nukes could connect.  Is that correct?  Reading the OPSEC restrictions, I'm not sure that is possible.  Please advise, especially for this sorta techy challenged mom!

There is a facebook page for Nukemoms.  It is by invitation only.  If you are on facebook and tell me your name I can get your name to the administrator.

Thanks.  I bet that is what that mom meant.  Forgive the "newbie" question but it's ok to reply with my full name for FB?  Can I send it to you in a message?  Would that be more private?  If so, how do I do that????  The post below had an icon for message--I'm showing my techy challenged self here...

LuvCat - I just sent you a message.  You don't want to post your name on here, just in a private message!

Welcome LuvCat and BZ to your son on finishing the program! You can mention the ship your son is on and where he's stationed - just don't post last names!  Chances are you will find some others who have sailors stationed in the same area/ship/sub.  There's also other groups on here that are specific to ships or areas they are stationed in that you will want to join.  Go ahead and post it and we can guide you in the right direction :)

B'sNukeMom,
I just found out my son is going to be on the sub USS Washington but we have no idea where it will be stationed since it is brand new and just finishing up with sea trials. He is a Nuke Officer... can you point me in the right direction for a Facebook group or any group from that sub?
Thanks

myvampress - I'm going to send you a friend request so I can PM you.
