My son arrived today at bc. It's been an emotional day! I know he is excited to start this journey, little does he know we are all on this whirlwind together.

So true!! They have no idea how involved we are in their journey!! Hold on Mom!! It's a crazy ride!! But we are all here for you!
Thanks NNLori. I have cried so much today and this past week I think I'm going to call it an early night. Thanks for the support!
Whirlwind is a good description of this experience for us Navy moms and SO's. I feel like I am "in training" as well, they are training us to let go,and it is painful... I hope we will appreciate our time together and each other even more once we are together again. Best wishes to you and your family as your whirlwind begins!
Thanks bluemom♡

Kraftinkat beleive me your SR is feeling the same he will be thinking in back of his mind what did I do? and he will be home sick, but they keep them so busy their may be times he wont have time to think about anything else. My son was in ROTC for four years, and joined right out of high school, just became a Sailor Sept. 1st and the whole time in BC he second guessed himself as to why he joined, had to get that negativity out of his mind and remind him why he was there and the purpose behind it. No body likes BC and believe me they count the days for it to be over. Your son is in good hands and will be fine. The hardest Part about all of this is the Not knowing, but once you recieve a letter or call believe me it all changes. Good Luck to you and Your SR.

Thanks phoenixmom!

Kraftinkat all us Mothers have gone thru emotional state of crying and missing our loved ones, it is easier said than done when someone says he is ok he will be fine, I know my son never was away, maybe for one night and the letting go is so so hard, but believe me when you get a letter and a phone call it makes it a little bit more easier. we will always be moms at heart that cannot be taken away, But our Boys are in the stage of becoming Men. Keep your head up and stay strong!

Yes this is second time around for me! Older son went into Marines. I want that first letter.
