My son was due to graduate on Jan 26, however he called me on last week to say that his graduation date has been pushed back until March 2, 2018,  because he did not pass PRT. My son said that so many are sick with the Norovirus and it was difficult for him to complete the running because he has been sick. He sounded so hurt and disappointed. Has anyone experienced this issue with their FS?

Thank you for your post. My son is sick too, he was set to graduate on Feb 2, but I got the dreadful call yesterday. Knowing there are others that are going through the same thing gives me hope. I am still sad because I can't be there for him. Not only is he sick he had all of his wisdom teeth pulled too and could not complete the run. Moms all we can do is be there for one another and keep our young ladies and men lifted in prayer. We are going to make it. Good luck to everyone.

Know that you are not alone... I pray that your son feels better soon. Send him some cards and letters of encouragement, I did with my son and he appreciated receiving them...Us as mothers, fathers and guardians must stick together and pray for our future sailors. And Yes! we will make it thru this together...Have a blessed evening..

Timber218, I left info for you on your My Page.

JayBNavyMom, That hurts, I hope some good comes out of it. Maybe he is with others who also held back and they will bond as supporting comrades. Did everyone get flu shots and then many still get sick with a virus? These guys are going to be wiser and able to withstand so much more in life! Hang in there!

The "Ricky Crud" that is ever-present at boot camp is just a cold, not the flu.  I got it when I went through boot camp over 30 years ago!  Thousands of recruits from all over the country bringing in who knows what germs ... it is amazing more don't get sick more often.  Norovirus is a little different, yes, but a flu shot targets a totally different virus.

I think this minor set back is making my son so much stronger. I have recently spoke with him and he is feeling so much better with his health. He is completing his running in good timing now and he even stated that he has a six pack now, which I thought was so funny...(goes to show he is in good spirits). Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Have a blessed evening.
