Does anyone else worry that their SR won't make it through BC, or am I just not having any faith in my son? I feel like a bad mom by worrying about it, but I read all these things that they can get discharged for either doing or not being able to do. Am I alone in this?

Angella first off you are not a bad mom, going into BC is a big thing to be able to accomplish. as you know the Navy at one time had standards but werent meeting the others, as the Army, Air Force, Marines. so seeing this the Navy decided to raise the bar and now anyone who comes to BC has to meet the standards and has to score a certain amount in order to pass, as you see their are many either being pushed back, or being seperated because they are having a hard time. I will put some sites on this so you can take a look at. Pray for your Son and when you do send letters send scriptures to him show you are his strength and he can overcome any obstacle. He will need that because he will be working his butt off, he will be tired, and he will be really missing home. So get all those bad thought out of your head and think positive. Beleive me we all were their at one point in time. Have a Great Day.

If this helps any, here is info and I will put the site down,

To graduate boot camp, a sailor needs an overall category of "Good (Low)," which means their average in three events must be 60 points or greater.

Navy Physical Readiness Test (PRT) Overview | Military.com

The site below shows how they have to score in order to pass. I think this will give some insight on why many are having problems. and this site shows how many of each. good information.

Navy Boot Camp Graduation Standards – Navy Fitness

Navy recruits will have to pass a run test prior to boot camp start...January 2018.

according to this site the Navy is raising the bar, the navy at one point never had a standard like the Army, and Marines, Air force now they are implementing this.

Navy recruits will have to pass a run test prior to boot camp start...January 2018.

I think the initial run is the only part I am not worried about as he is running the mile and a half in 13 and a half min. It's the next physical test I worry about. He isn't great with how many push ups and sit ups he can do, but I imagine that will increase with his time at boot camp. He could do about half of what he needs to do when he tests.

They will work with him to get him to pass, also with the swim test. right now I wouldnt worry to much the first week is in processing, I can put you the site to know what they do week to week and then to understand the P-Days.

Here is the breakdown to P-days

I found those pages! I know I am worrying needlessly. My brain is just all over the place! My 2 daughters and I, along with 2 of my friends are going out to dinner and a painting class on Saturday. Going to try and focus on that for a while and let my brain rest. Lol. It's definitely working overtime!

Yes you worrying is going to get you sick, focus on the good he will be fine, get your bible and find scriptures to ease your worrying. I know it is easier said than done to not worry, we are Mothers and we cant help but to worry and feel anxious when it comes to our Loved ones. here are some scriptures for you pray on them, they will help.

Philippians 4:6-7 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Thank you. Those scriptures do help. Makes me have an idea. We have our regular Bible reading schedule, but it's for the whole Bible and he just took a small new testament with him. I will make a new Bible reading schedule for him and I to do together and then we will be reading the same passages at the same time. I think it would be nice to have that with him. Make him seem closer. Thank you! I will make it as a once a week reading so he can read it Sunday morning.
