What does your husband say? he will need to be mom/dad when you leave. It's a big step for the family and their support would be huge. Are you physically mentally ready now, or would you need to get ready physically?

Its something he is on board with. i would need to physically get prepared. My dad just straight said "i dont think you can do it" but i honestly think i can acheive it. I am honestly terrified of basic thought

What would be your reason for joining? You can look on the main page here and see all kind of info about joining about basic about life in the Navy. You can go to navy.mil and see their info. You can see what the requirements are and either go to a gym or on your own and work toward passing them. If you can do that before you join you would be ahead of the game.

Hi Melissa - you definitely should check out the bootcamp group as it will give you much of the info you are looking for.  You'll also find videos & links there to help you prepare.

Like Mern said - you want to have ALL your physical requirements met before you go.  This changed in July and now you must pass your run when you first get there.  If you don't they test you again within 48 hours and if you don't pass you are sent home (you are able to reapply within 6 months).
