My boyfriend is leaving for boot camp May 30th, and I am looking to connect with anyone who will have their loved one leaving around this time!! Message me and I'd love to stay in contact for support (:

Hello, my son is leaving around the same time. I believe he was told the 28th, but I realized the 29/30th sounds more realistic. I'm a bag of nerves!!
My son leaves May 31st. My sons recruiter advised he could be placed in a Push Unit and PIR as early as 6 weeks, has your boyfriend been advised of this? My son said due to the influx of high school graduates that enter right after graduation Push Units are formed.
Hi RIMom,
No, I have not heard about this! I think there is definitely something going in with their influx due to high school students, as my boyfriend found out just last week that his ship date was being moves up to today. His options were to either move his ship date up or wait until September. That would be awesome if boot camp was only six weeks for them! Fingers crossed. lol
Best of luck to you and your family!
Have you heard anymore about the Push unit? I haven't heard from my son, so I don't know what ship he is in or anything.
Those in a Push Division are in one of the last divisions in the TG and some or all in the division have only 8 Fridays instead of the typical 9 Fridays that others in the TG and possibly even some in the division. That happens more often for those who ship at the beginning of the week on Monday or Tuesday. There is more on that and more in What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology),
No, being in a Push Division has nothing to do with the larger number of recruits shipping in the summer and early fall months. Actually, the larger number of recruits can cause some to have 10 Fridays instead of the typical 9 Fridays if too many ship in a particular week, which is the opposite of a Push Division. That is more likely to happen for one shipping on Wednesday or Thursday than for one shipping at the beginning of the week. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.
Welcome Ladies so Nice to have you along, and Congratulations to all of your Loved One's. I help out on Boot Camp Moms and on that site you can find much information as to what happens when they arrive, what takes place as far as processing them in, when you should receive the Box some call it the "Kid in Box" and when the form will be received. as of Jan. 2018 they have changed things up in regards to receiving the form. I will post some sites so you get a feel as to what to expect. Again Welcome, and please know that no one is alone here, we will be with you the whole step of the Journey in BC. if there are any concerns/Questions or information needed please do not hesitate to reach out.
See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and Ship/Division--How it Works.
Also know that your loved one can stick in his wallet a book of stamps, a phone card make sure it is activated, a list of numbers and addresses, pieces of Moleskin, and a note from you letting them know how proud you are, a scripture for strength or any encouragement quotes. they will be cut off as far as communication so they will get homesick and this will help to have something like this on them to reflect back on.
When will "The Box" come?
It will usually arrive by FedEx within a few days, but it can take up to 2 weeks at times.
And please know you have to be home or somebody to recieve the box. unless you can get with your local fed ex and see what you can do to have them leave at your door. because if not they will leave a ticket to pick up or call and see if they can re-deliver.
Your recruit will send The Form Letter once Phase I is over and s/he has passed the first PFA and has officially been assigned to a ship and division. (See When to Expect Your Form Letter and Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training ... for more information.)

Thank you phoenixmom. I won’t lie, yesterday was rough for me. Getting the official date and having it be so soon was a huge shock. As a single mom I’m dealing not only with him leaving but also the whole empty nest, what do I do with myself now part is daunting. It’s a lot to handle in a short amount of time.
Good Morning Noabre2025 was wondering if you got my message last night, check your my Page.
