Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Recruit arrived Dec 18. Anyone else's?
Hi Parents!
My son arrived at Great Lakes yesterday. I'm looking to connect with other parents whose recruit did, as well. My daughter is in the Navy - over 5 years now - and our parent group during her time at Grear Lakes, was wonderful.

Being through this journey before, I'm comfortable with what's next, but I will definitely seek out other members (indesignated group forums) once I know what division he's in. Thank you so much for the support.

Our son arrived at BC on 12/18 as well, anxiously awaiting a mailing address ourselves. So hard to think of him so far from home for Christmas, and not even a card to read. ☹

I sure know how you feel. My son's bday is in 2 weeks, too. He's always been home for both. Sigh... I'm so happy for the path he's chosen, but it's sure a tough one to adjust to, as a parent, when they're away. I've been fortunate to see my daughter for most Christmases, while she's been in the Navy, but missed almost all of her birthdays.

Hi Sue1214: When my daughter was in Navy Bootcamp, I received 4 brief phone calls from her, throughout the time she was there. I had more phone calls that letters, because they only had a little time on Sundays to correspond; they were just so busy. My daughter was also in one of the 900 performance divisions - state flags - so I don't know if that was a factor. I don't know what it will be like, this time around. Christmas may be too early in their training, for a call, but I'll be praying for that miracle, for you.

The box arrived today-what an amazingly bittersweet Christmas delivery! I guess that means we are moving along...really anxious for an address. Merry Christmas to all of you and sending joy and peace as you journey through boot camp!

My daughter arrived December 18th as well!!! We received her box last Friday - much quicker than I anticipated. Awaiting the form letter - even though I understand it will take a bit, I actually waited by our mailbox for the mail yesterday - lol!
