For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello Navy for Moms!
My SR sent me a letter today and asked me to send her lotion, chapstick, toothpaste, and highlighters.
Am I allowed to send these items to her?

I just got a letter today and my daughter asked to send her cough drops since she is sick and won't be able to shop for a while. I was going to overnight some tomorrow. Is this okay? Will she get into trouble?

DANG!!! Well she is getting a bunch of cough drops in the mail tomorrow. I figured since she asked for them that she maybe had run that by someone...oops. She did say that they would not be allowed to shop for a while that is why she asked for us to send them.. Hopefully they will give her a break.. Not only has she been sick since she got there but had to have her wisdom teeth taken out this week. She wont go to medical because she doesnt want to get delayed. I pray they dont go too hard on her..

It is sad to say that they are not allowed anything sent but yes if they get permission makeup will be able to be sent prior to PIR.

Makeup may be sent to female recruits. They can have a basic foundation, mascara, low key blush, and a neutral lipstick. It can be worn for formal pictures and at PIR.

I sent all of these items to her and she was allowed to keep it along with a bunch of make up.
I also got to sneak in 6 strips of strawberry sourbelts wrapped in wax paper wrapped in a short letter in an envelope with 2 stamps. I don’t advise to do this though, she could’ve gotten caught. She got to eat it on Halloween day! She was really happy.
