Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is going to recruiter with his dad today. He has had substance abuse issues and a pending court date for possession, felony d. His dad is hoping they will drop charges, to misdemenor, due to never being in trouble before, has a job and now enlisting in the navy. Couldn't say he would pass a pee test, but this might be his last chance to straighten himself out and seems to be what he wants as well.not even sure what the courts will do let alone what the military will expect never have even talked to a recruiter before. It's out of my hands as his dad will be taking him. Myself not sure how I can support him in this decion or educate myself on the recruitment process and expectations of him as I will not be taking him myself..

He will probably have to wait until his court case is decided.  

He will for sure have to wait until his legal matters are cleared up, and then possibly need waivers. When I called the recruiter to make our first appointment, the very first question he asked was, “Could he pass a drug screen today? If not, I’m not interested until he can.” I don’t know if that’s the way all recruiters work, but this guy didn’t even entertain anyone currently using. Good luck to your family. I hope everything works out and your son finds his way.

That is not at all unusual.  There are no waivers for not passing a drug test.

He doesn't know if he should disclose this to the recruiter. He's hoping he would tell the judge he's being processed for recruitment to bring charges down to misdemenor before recrutement process is complete. Telling the recruiter would not be good for that reason? Because charges could be changed
Well he told recruiter, court date on the 17th, lawyer will talk to States attourney, if all goes well, he will be enlisted asap
All the best of luck to your son. It’s a good thing he told the recruiter because everything must be disclosed and omitting or lying in the recruitment process can result in immediate dismissal.

My heart goes out to you momma...seeing our children  make bad choices is the so hard and them wanting to change that around can is what we can hope for. Seeing that your sons desire to to make it right is awesome and takes great courage, regardless  of where it plays out for recruitment.

Well, court dates are over, charges dropped per agreement he join the navy. So he will be talking to the recruiter soon. What are good questions to ask the recruiter, what will happen at the recruiters office and d what next?
