Hello Fellow Navymoms,
I’m new also. SR left last Monday and received his belongings. I was expecting a letter, even just a form letter, with his address, PIR date, etc. So now I’m looking for info on when and how this info typically arrives.

Thanks

Hi there - the official form letter usually arrives about 9-14 days after arrival at boot camp.  The boot camp group is a good place for you to start as you will find answers to most of your questions there.  I left the link in the Welcome message on your page.  And once you get the letter with the PIR date you can join that group too. For now, keep your phone handy as you never know when you might get a surprise call.

And remember, no news is good news!

Hang in there!

The Arrival and what happens at RTC will give you a good idea of what to expect too (this can also be found in the boot camp group):

Hi KJNukemom, I am one week in too, got the box and am anxiously awaiting the next communication, especially an address and PIR. Can only remind myself that "no news is good news" at this time.
Hi Canuka, We got the letter on Tuesday. It looks like my SR’s PIR is June 28th. Did you receive yours yet?
Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother's Day KJNukemom. No I haven't heard anything yet, am hoping for a June 28 PIR; just want a full address right now. Hopefully your mail is just faster than mine. What day did your SR get to GL?

Finally, the form letter came today-12th business day, 16th day overall. PIR 6/28.

Hi ! My SR arrived at Great Lakes the night of April 30th. We haven't received the form letter as of yet but hopefully their PIR is 6/28 judging by your previous comment about when your SR arrived

Awesome! That was a long wait but glad you got it! And PIR on the 28th like you had hoped!!!!
Mallie529 I hope you have heard by now. My SR also got to GL late on April 30. The letter was postmarked May 13.

Canuka! Yes thank you. Got the form letter yesterday! So excited that I now have an address to send letters too! PIR is the 28th!

Happy Friday! Have either of you seen a GROUP for PIR JUNE28 yet?
