Will I for sure get phone call prior to PIR? I’m starting to get concerned. I have not heard from my son since the end of December.

The Navy does not require them to call anyone after BS21.  That is entirely up to the Sailor.  Most of them do call family however.

Thank you! It would not be like him to not call so hopefully he is just busy? I just get worried that he could be sick or that he didn’t complete something. I will try to remain calm and hopeful :)
Thank you! I will keep hoping for the best then and assume all is well. We still have couple of days.:)

Your son has not completed BS yet. Keep your phone close today (Tuesday), and tomorrow. My guess your call will come today, but it depends on what divisions went through BS this past Thursday.

Oh really? Yes phone on and on me at all times right now. Thank you Ellen I really appreciate that.

You're welcome!

Leesa-- You are in the Second Great Silence!! (the first being the weeks they have just arrived at BC before you have the Form Letter)  It's not uncommon to hear nothing for the last few weeks including letters.  They have a spate in the middle where they can earn extra calls so we get lulled into thinking this is the norm now but it's not.  It is however the Navy life.  Spates of silence and other times where communications are normal.  No News is GOOD News!! If PIR is this week you are Right where you should be and the call should come through soon.  They are sometimes too tired however so don't panic! IF there is a PROBLEM you will be Notified.  If you are not then Carry on as if all is good!

Thank you so much for all the comforting words. I really appreciate it!

Leesa, we are in limbo, too.  I'm afraid we won't get our call before we have to get on the plane on Thursday morning.  We are coming from California, so we will be on an early flight.

JaneenPS -- Just make sure you change your message on your voicemail to let your sailor know you are proud and excited and will see him soon.

Thanks.  Great idea if it comes to that.  I hope I hear from her sooner than that, but if I hear nothing before our flight, I'm getting on that plane!

Hi there

I’m sure you and I are not alone. I really hope we both hear something real soon.

Thank you and safe travels!
