OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Captain Mast
I need some assistance, my son went to captain mast. He wants to appeal the decision. But My question is who appeals it? My understanding is the appeal must be in writing to his command. But he isn't allowed to be on the computer while on restriction. He is having some mental health issues and went to medical prior to getting into trouble, but they diagnosed him with anxiety. He is having short term memory lost, migraines and anxiety. He forgot to do something at work so they charged him with dereliction of duty. I believe he might have ADD, I was recently diagnosed with it and I know under stressful situations that as an adult you can start showing symptoms of it when under severe stress. Which he has been at this time. He has an appointment scheduled for Tuesday but instead of waiting they captain mast him and demoted him gave him 45 days restriction and loss of pay. The additional time being under restriction on the ship is causing him severe depression along with the rest of the other issues. I believe they should have waited till mental health could do a mental evaluation. So I am trying to figuer out who submits the appeal for him. Or does he just get a piece of paper and write "I want to appeal" and turn it into his command. If anyone has any information on how to appeal captain mast, please let me know.

Sintea77 - I don't know much about appealing a Captain's Mast, but I just wanted you to know that I saw this and will be praying for you. Your son should be able to go talk to a Chaplain, unless he is already in restriction.
