Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Amanda,

If you did not join the Feb PIR group  Groups - Navy For Moms (ning.com) you might want to do so. Otherwise, you are welcome to join the Beyond BC group. Beyond BC - Navy For Moms (ning.com)

To see about keeping up with others on the BC Mom group you might have met. I also believe there is a Japan group, Japan Moms - Navy For Moms (ning.com)

Congratulations to your daughter!!

I will post a link to this discussion in the BC Mom group and maybe someone will see it and connect with you as well.

Omg u are my first reply!! I have confusing tears at this point thank u so much h

The site is pretty quiet on the weekend at times.

Your posts are not in the normal group locations where they might get more attention but I see that you posted in the Mom daughter's group. Give it some time. Regarding your care packages, you will need an address from your daughter before you mail anything to her. I think I gathered that she is staying in GL. Honestly, Phoenixmom is the one to ask about GL A school and she is showing logged in but I am not sure if she is actually posting at the moment.

Keep in mind that if your daughter is going to Japan, then she will not be able to take a lot of things with her. She can get her toiletries at the NEX and I am sure they are able to have a few snacks just make sure they are in a tight container!

When she is able to call you, then you can get more information from her regarding what you can send. She will probably have a few days or more of INDOC next week and that should be explained then.

Thank u I will look into that..she has her phone. Back and has been periodically texting everyone but I'm sure they are all excited and celebrating and exploring there new area!! ..trying to b patient!! Lol

Cali's Mama,

Congratulation's again. I did not see this post either or I would have answered you as well. If you have a fb account and are part of some of the navy moms groups you can ask about a Japan group. There is one but it is usually secret so you have to ask and then you will answer some questions before you are able to join the group.

This is what I have learned from some of the other moms on fb in my groups.

No worries and I am sure she will text you when she is able.    :)

I see you joined the Japan Moms group - that's a great place to start!  They will get you through this.  They have a saying "Once a Pan mom, always a Pan mom!".  Some of the ladies in that group have been around for years and they know all the ins & outs.

Hang in there!
