My son just graduated bootcamp and he went to legal holding. He thought he was there waiting on A school come to find out an incident that happened in March where he gave a recruit who was grieving over the death of his brother an ibuprofen. He was trying to help the person feel better because he had a headache from crying. Now my son and the boy is in legal holding waiting for a decision on their faith. I’m praying neither of the boys get separated from something so minor as an ibuprofen. My son is not knowing what can happen and he is very scared. Concerned mother on edge!!!!

Stephanie -

I am not even sure what to say as I don't know a lot about legal incidents, but I am soo sorry this has happened. It makes our momma heart aches when we think that something as innocent as ibuprofen could cause problems. I don't know what the rules are at RTC, but I know in the public schools that my children were in, the girls were not even allowed to carry Tylenol or Ibuprofen for back aches. They had to go to the nurse to request it. Thinking you are doing something out of compassion and not even thinking about the negative ramifications is a judgement call that is partially due to our children's frontal lobes not being fully developed. It is hard to tell what the outcome might be, but hopefully you will hear more soon and I am sure you will be praying for him as well.

Thank you so much yes we all praying for him.

Prayers for these two recruits, if they are on the path our Lord has chosen for them I know it will just be a lesson to build them into better Sailors. I will hold them both up in Prayer!

Thank you so much we are praying as well for my son and the young man he was helping and plus he is grieving from the death of his brother.

Thank you so much

Stephanie:

I sent you a friend request so that we can message via Inbox.

LeAnn

I will check it ok new here I’m trying to figure it out.

Stephanie,

If this will help, How to send PMs (Private Messages) to friends on N4M & some OPS...  That is a link to a discussion that I have posted elsewhere on this site as to how to set up PM (private messages) with others.

LeAnn - thanks for reaching out to Stephanie

Hi Stephanie! This is disheartening to know that your son was just having compassion for his fellow recruit and it has caused this situation. I'm praying that your Sailor as well as the other will not be penalized. It sounds like he is on hold in THU. If you don't mind I'll PM you and share what I've learned about THU. Stay positive!

Yes ma'am please do

Im trying to figure this out but please inbox me please.

I will add a prayer to both recruits. I hope, that if they both stand up and are honest on this issue, they should be looked at favorably. They may get rank reduced or some other action, I just pray that's all and they can move forward.
