OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Email and mailing address for USS Ronald Reagan sailor

Can anyone tell me how to get this information? Grandson is serving on USS Ronald Reagan.  I want to get an email address and or a mailing address to send correspondence and care packages.  He does not have personal cell phone, so it's not an option for communication.

janmc - I see that Phoenixmom gave you the contact information for the ombudsmen. With the way it works for my son's ship, if someone wants to connect and be a part of our private ombudsman FB page, then they email the ombudsman and usually have to have the sailor's email address for the ship, but you can also explain your grandson's situation, and give all of your personal information, Name, phone #, mailing address and email address, as well as your sailor's rank and department if you know it and ask the ombudsman to reach out to your sailor and start the vetting process so that you can join the FB group or the ombudsman group.

Please understand that if there are delays, it is because of the security of the sailors and their ship. Is there anyone else that has his contact information? That you could receive that from?

To clarify, my son is NOT assigned to the USS Ronald Reagan, I was just sharing how ours works. Some ships do things a little differently.
