Submarine moms are special:

--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

 --- With whereabouts unknown, and

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Tell us where your sailor serves...

My Son is also stationed at Kinsbay, Ga. He is on the Flordia. Beautiful area to visit
My sailor is serving in Seattle,WA. He is on the USS Michigan. I am from Michigan. Anyone who has a son in Washington State, like to chat.
Hi Charlotte! My son Kris is in WA state, too. Have you visited the area yet? It's beautiful, and a great place to raise a family. Kris and his wife bought a home in Seabeck and are raising my grandson Nick and the expected baby there now. He's on the USS Jackson and has been in the Navy for 11 years, so I'm rather seasoned now. I know it's a long way from Home, but I'm a Kentucky mom and the trip is expensive, but do go visit and have your son take you to the submariners museum. I finally understand what Kris does!

Love, Andi
Hi my son was on the USS Houston for 4 years, and now will be on the HMAS Farncomb for the next 2 years as he is stationed in Australia.
Kathy,
Do you know any moms that still have sons on the Houston? Mine has only been on for 11 months.

Did you ever travel to Guam to visit? I would love to plan a trip there.

Jane
My son, Jeff is a Machinist's Mate on the USS Annapolis. They are under going "sea trial' after being in dry dock for almost a year. And this is for Kaye.... I am an Alabama mom BUT I must say "War Eagle".... lol. Of course this is your year! Good luck with the SEC Champ.
Ha, Ha! Actually I'm an "Alabama Mom" only when it comes to submarines. We've only been in Indiana since June. I'm a 5th generation Texan! So you know what that means... HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!

Good luck to "whoever" in the SEC... they'll need it for the NATIONAL Championship!! Hugs, ks ;-)

ps: Oh, and welcome Karen M!
My son, Donovan, is a Nuke electrician (PO2) on the USS Columbus in Hawaii. He's been there since Dec 2007 & will be there until May 2012. Unless he decided to re-up again! This is first boat assignment after teaching for 2 years at prototype in SC.
Well, I bet he "knows his stuff" after teaching at prototype! We've got lots of Goose Creek nukes here whom he probably knows too! By the way, Deana will be glad to know you're here... she's been looking for another Columbus mom. You can find her at www.navyformoms.com/profile/DeanaAlexander Welcome... ks.
Thanks for the welcome! Deana & I have already found each other. Yeah, he has found a couple of guys from GC already, but my guess is that if he was their teacher, they don't have "fond" memories of him! He's kind of a hard-nose! LOL! One of the guys that was in SC with him as an instructor is also on the Columbus, & he's made a couple of good friends from the boat. But the nuke world is pretty small.
Son is on the USS LaJolla in Hawaii. He is Class 2 EM5.
Welcome, Dinah (same name as my kids' godmother!). Have you met Heather yet? She's another LaJolla mom. You can find her at www.navyformoms.com/profile/Heather56 Hugs! ks.
