Hi Moms, PIR is over and it was as fabulous as everyone said it would be! Dropped our new Sailor son off at his new home in GL yesterday afternoon and today he reports to Indoc for five days from 7 am - 5 pm. I believe they told him after two weeks he would be moving again. I suspect he was lonely last night...only had one roommate vs. 75 + !!!

Looking forward to going thru this next stage of their lives with you. Our son will be in GL for 30 weeks, he is in AE/CF program.

What is your son or daughter doing now? Where are they at for school?

LOL!
You can count on that Molly - those tough Seals!
A Twidgett is what they call the people who's rates are Electronics, Snipes are those from the Engineering field.
So now the question .............. is your kiddo either of them ?
If you dont know, tell us the rate and we can figure it out for you :)
(( come on be a snipe, come on be a snipe )) LOL just trying to get Mary going !! LOL
Oh Molly girl - are you really wishing for more snipes?!!! Don't you know snipes don't get to see the light of the day?!! While our Twidgetts are sitting in nice air conditioned departments enjoying the view of the seas?!!

Careful girlfriend...I'm getting educated!!! lol
Dang .....................
Cant I just keep you a BC mom ? LOL

So I know the Snipe sayings, what are the twidgett sayings ?
Snipes "we run the navy" That is the official saying.
also if your not in engineering .........your just along for the ride.
ohhhh Molly, can't wait to share that one with my husband!!! I'm quite sure he has a saying or two for those snipes!!! :-)
I know Big Twidgett will have something to say :)
LOL isnt it cute........... ok I dont know if they would care for us calling it "cute ".......but I do love all the little words and saying they have. My favorite is a "skittle" that is just too darn funny !
He was chuckling this morning as he stepped out of the shower and I was like...quick, I need to slap Molly with a snipe-ism!!! I thought Colton was an EM but he said to make sure as he had all kinds of goodies he could share with me...watch out momma!!!
Whoooo I cant wait ............. LOL some I may not tell Colton though :)

I asked Colton what they called the other branch's called the navy .......he said all he hs ever heard were squids.
I assumed there had to be a worse one then that .......so I asked an old Army Sargent here at work. He said "dance partners" LOL I told Colton that ((he didnt take that too kindly)) LOL I thought it was kinda funny.
oh, we are all learning here Robin but it's get to be doing it together!
As long as our sons and daughters understand it - all will be fine.
Robin, Trae is part of the skittles :)
they call them that because when they are all running around the flight deck they look like a bunch of skittles have been scattered :) Here is a link for you
