Hi Sherry

Sure. I am from Flint, MI. Where do I go to check it out.
Hey Sherry~ My son is also in BC right now. He is set to graduate 4/25 if all things go as planned...he is also in for MAA and we are also from michigan. Stay strong girls.... :0)

My son is in boot cam now too. He will go to A school in Groton, CT (sub school)
Hello April,
My son graduated from GL in October and is currently in CT and going to sub school. During the off season, the area is kind of boring (my son's words) because it is a seasonal town (Mystic Seaport area), but after making some friends, he is enjoying his time there and comes home less frequently. (He is close enough to home that he can come home weekends without having to take leave time.) My son is going into navigation and will graduate in July. Then it is off to the fleet. Best of luck to your son.

Anybody doing AS? He signed up for aviation mechanic but I guess a subdivision is AS. He enlisted in Aug 07 but didn't go to bootcamp till feb 08, will he get this new "bonus" per Congress? Are AS assigned mostly to flight carriers?
Also, I find this VERY informative and I love reading about others going through same as me but I wonder how smart it is to put on the internet where your son and his squadron or base is located...aren't you scared of this info getting into the wrong hands? Some on here are pretty specific.
When people talk about what ship they are on... or what their position is... it's like saying this is what dorm they are in and they are majoring in- whatever it maybe. I advise moms to re-read the rules in the forums. Please DON NOT say where your sailor's ship/sub is located as of date. If you have any more questions. Please let me know. Sincerely, Catherine
Hi
My daughter Erika will graduate on March 28 08 Then will go to school for AO in FL
and most likely her first duty station will be on a Carrier,
Hi....my son joined Aug 31 and we thought that was what he was going to be Air Rescue....like a firefighter....he ended up an ABH....Aviation Boatwain's Handler....on the flight deck. It is the 5th most dangerous jobs in the Navy. He explained it to me as the guys who have to catch the jet line as it lands and secures the line before take off. Sometimes I think they direct the jets when they land on the Aircraft carrier. He did really well in BC and very well in A school. Only 5 of the guys in his class got placed on an aircraft carrier. I really think the Navy puts you were they need you and were you will be safe and do a good job. He works 12hrs a day--7 days a week. I am really proud of him. He likes it. His now on his first deployment and it is difficult not being able to talk with him. I wish your son the very best and you too. Thank him for me. We're all proud of all of our sailors. Smooth sailin. Andrea
