Molly had the GREAT idea to send some N4M love to some of our military that are "hurting".
I am going to say that July 12 is the "birthday" of this endeavor. July 13 it got named!!
"M.A.S. Special Hugs" - M.A.S. - for Molly's Adopt a Sailor!!!

From Molly: Hey Moms ---- we are having some wounded guys coming our way. Would you like to make a thread and those who would like to send a card or messages to our wounded ones.

If you know of someone in the military "hurting" and needing a "special hug" - PM me (Brenda Sue) the address and I'll post it in our "special place." I do ask that you keep us updated on the condition or change of address of anyone that has a lingering need.

OK - Mom's let's get this ball on the roll!!

I am going to keep these names in one place - so people don't have to read through hundreds of pages to find them. Go to MAS We Ship Love (Click Here) for the addresses. This is a private group - just ask to be a member and after you have been "checked out" - the powers that be accept you!

Please use the labels designed in the "Shipping Labels" discussion so they will be easily recognized!!

You can either print these on stickers or just tape them to the envelopes. If neither is possible, just write Molly's Adopt a Sailor on the envelope - so they know where they are coming from.

What a senseless tragedy! I cannot believe the pain his mother must be in.
Lynn... do you have an address we can send cards to???? This story is just so heart breaking...
Molly and Brenda, Thank you so much for getting this together. I wish there was not a need for it but there is. I hope to get some cards in the mail by Tuesday. Of course my prayers are with these families. Just so tragic.
Count me in, I have copied the address's and will get these cards in the mail this week.
Just dropped cards in the mail for each of the above... thanks to each and every mom that reaches out! While this page is filled with heartbreaking stories, I am warmed to my very core knowing how much love and prayer is being sent their way!
My cards are on the way. They got picked up about an hour or so.
Hello everyone. There is a young man that passed away that lived close to where I live. I have been able to find out the family address and phone number from America Supports You Texas. I have called but haven't gotten an answer yet. If I can't get an answer tomorrow, I will be willing to put my name and address here so that you can send cards c/o me and I will make sure they get them. Here is a link to a little of the information.
Wow, I may have to take a break every once in awhile as this gets a little emotional.
In case the link does not work for some - here is the story.
All my links don't work at work - and sometimes neither do I.

Navy sailor dies of pneumonia in Afghanistan

12:51 PM EDT on Thursday, July 9, 2009

NORFOLK -- A sailor initially based on the Norfolk-based USS Iwo Jima died in Afghanistan.

Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Darren Ethan Tate, 21, of Canyon, Texas, contracted pneumonia while part of a training team in Afghanistan.

He was taken to Bagram Air Base, where he died July 8.

He was originally assigned to USS Iwo Jima, but he left the ship in August 2008 to begin training for Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan. The team does training of host nation military and civilian.

Tate joined the Navy in June 2006; went from recruit training to technical traning command. He arrived aboard USS Iwo Jima in December 2006.

The ship is planning memorial service aboard USS Iwo Jima. She's overseas left in June.

Tate's body is expected to arrive at Dover Air Force Base Thursday evening, a federal government source tells 13News.
Sorry, didn't realize that the links wouldn't work for everyone!
Not a problem - just let us know about an address. We don't want too much time to pass before they start getting cards. If you don't think you can get one easily, let's just either have them mailed to you or me and one of us can forward them when we do get the address.
i'm traveling and haven't been online for 2 days. oh my! and I didn't bring any finished pillowcases with me, just fabric and a machine.

this is wonderful. I can do cards though. praying for them all.
