Please RSVP on Events page for Oct. 17th
http://www.navyformoms.com/events/illinois-statewide-meet-greet

Some parents want a meet and greet on Oct. 17th.
Two suggestions for cities would be
1) Bloomington/Normal
2) Springfield

We are looking for input as to how many might attend and which is preferred city---or do we need to be talking about both cities?

Shout out!

Sue,
Thanks for letting me know about this. If you need any help setting up I would be more than willing to help you out.
Hello! I'd love to be there! October 17th is our daughter Katie's 19th birthday. We had planned to visit her that weekend, but she has a 5 day weekend from college the 9th-13th and plans to come home. Unless her plans change and she doesn't come home then we'll be in Nashville the weekend of the 17th. This would be her first visit home since she left for college (she will be a freshmen), so there is a slim chance that she will change her mind. :) So, I guess my vote is for Bloomington/ Normal, it's about 1 1/2 hours from me. Keep me updated. I'm looking forward to it!
HI,
I am almost speechless. I said: "almost" This is going to be fantastic.
Love Famous Daves. And if they know how many are coming - they will make room for us! But truthfully - any place that is selected will be wonderful - we are looking forward to meeting each other! I am looking forward to the Dads meeting. My husband is finally shairng how he misses his son. Queston - any possible PR coming to the event? ( Newspaper - TV - etc.) And I like the idea of inviting a recruiter. If we are inviting a recruiter/recruiters are we paying for them? The word "invite" was used in some of the eariler conversations. Jeannie - thank you for taking time of looking for a place to allow individual or couples receipts and a private room for us not to bother the other costomers eating ( Hugging - sharing stories - crying - picture taking - etc) I had some more questions - but brain not functioning that well today. Thanks for all the love here. TLynn
Hi ladies, just returned home & saw this. I'm only 6 days into BC and still crying...but I'm better. Anyway I would love to join for a meet and greet in October. I prefer any Bloomington location if that's the city of choice. Thanks much, I truely love this website. I couldn't wait to get home to check in on new developments. Have
I was going to say have good evening all!
Hi,My husband and I would love to come. We are from Manteno, about 55 miles south of Chicago. Any town is fine with us. We will know definetly as work schedules allow a little closer to the date. Thanks Melissa
That's what pain killers do to ya! I seriously meant to post all my updates to the Meet & Greet site! Thanks, Jeannie, for reposting here for me!

My hubby and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on October 16th. When I told him we were thinking about a meet & greet on the 17th, he kind of looked at me funny. I don't know if he had something planned, but oh well!! I can see him ANYtime!!! heehee He'll be at the lunch anyway!
Hey Jeannie, thanks for asking -- three vicodin since 5am, so I've been snoozing quite a bit. Nothing seems to be helping (ice, heat, e-stim, drugs). I tried to get in to the doctor earlier, but they are booked solid so I have to wait till my 3:30 appointment tomorrow. I hope he can get me in Thursday for an injection (they have to knock me out for a bit). If not, it's more missed work and the next day he does injections in Monday! yikes

Are you getting storms? We've had a few roll through here this afternoon, including a couple of those "cold air funnels" that look like tornadoes. Nothing touched down, though. It's pretty gloomy!

How was your visit with your sailor? Aren't those brief messages the most precious, cherished words in the world?

I am SOOOOO looking forward to meeting everyone!!!
Hi, I'm new to this group, but my husband would be interested in attending the lunch. Please let me know if I can do anything.
I MEANT TO SAY MY HUSBAND AND ME!
I really would like to be there but I cant on the 17 my brother inlaw is gettin married that day and my husband is in the wedding is there another day we could possible do it? please!!! I so want to go and meet new navy moms I feel alone and lost. thanks Terra
Hi Carol, Springfield, IL would be best for me. But, I will go where ever you have it. Springfield is 2 hours from me, and Normal is about 4 hours, Bloomington is 4 hours too. So just let me know what you decide, ok. So I can get my hotel reservations made before then. Looking forward to meet the navy mom's in IL. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with the meet & great! Wait for your post of where it will be. your friend Pam (Alexis step-mom)
