My son is Tanner Savage, I believe his bunk mate is SR Lemmons. His first bunk mate was Solammi. He has a great appreciation for his bunk mates as they make things bearable. Are there any moms out there with this ship and division? Tanner called this past Wednesday his first call since he arrived. He said it is far more difficult than he ever imagined. He passed his first PT test and first written (50 question) test. Lots of pressure and no time to study. I am thankful he has remained focused on getting through it. He says the letters from family and friends keeps him going as that is really all there is to look forward to each day. I miss him.

Tanner's Mom and Lesa: B. J. has been moved to ship 3, division 355 because of bronchitis. Did you get the call from Tanner about Battle Stations? I hope he did well. I am going to be a nervous week until next Thursday, because he won't be doing BS until Wednesday night.
Hi GoldenEmily,
Bless your heart for having to wait until next week for BS! I feel you as I anxiously await my phone call from my son. Sending you positive thoughts & well wishes!!!! :) Hang in there...it's almost over, thank GOD! :)
Thank you. Molly told me that he should still be marching with the division/ship. So that was good news. I am sure that you will be getting the call very soon! :)
Golden Emily - I am so sorry your son is sick. Is that the mysterious call you got yesterday??? Tanner is sick as well. I haven't heard anything from Brad about being sick. He said he doesn't get sick very often- which given the situation this is good. I will be thinking of you next week and as molly stated he should still graduate with his division. Hugs to you try to keep up the positive attitude. I know this is hard to do. Since he will go down to the wire before his is finished. He will be able to do it I am sure of it. He may still be really tired at graduation. Is he grad n go or will he stay put so he can get some sleep?? Thinking of you. Still haven't gotten the call.
Lesa
It must have been the reason for the call.

According to B. J.'s call of this morning he is grad and go. We are hoping that will change.

I hope Tanner is ok.

Thanks for thinking of us. I am trying my best to keep my chin up. Keep us posted on your call. Have a good weekend if we don't talk again. :)
Golden - I got my call today at 4:00 pm- Brad said so many people are really sick and the one who doesn't get sick said last week he was dying. He did make it thru and said BS was a little rough he was really tired. So I do have a sailor. I am proud of Brad. He finally accomplished something he set out to do. Which is good for him. Sorry about the grad n go - you wont get to see him very long. But any time is a blessing. Thinking of you.
Lesa & Golden Emily - Congratulations to both of you and your sons! I received my phone call yesterday too! We all have Sailors now. :) Tanner is grad & go too....I hope that we do get to see him some but of course that is uncertain. I am so sorry to hear that B.J. has bronchitis!! I hope he is better soon....I think that virus has ravaged through their division and jus hit many of the boys so hard. Tanner sounded horrible on the phone yesterday and has been sick the entire week. He said the team has really pulled through for each other and that all the guys were looking out for those that were sick. I am just thankful that all of their difficult work is done. I hope you guys are doing well outside of the worrying. I am just ready to be there. This is going to be a long 4 days.....Have a good weekend.
Good to hear from you. Tanner being Grad n go and staying at great lakes they will just have to check into their dorms for school on Friday and they should have the rest of the weekend to spend with friends and family. So good for him. I ask Brad if he knew him and he said yes. I said the two of you are going to EN school together and he is like I know. So good for the two of them. Won't be long before we will be on the road.
Hey Lesa, it is good to hear from you. Ya know, we get so excited when we put two and two together about our kids knowing one another and they are like well yeah, we know. Tanner is the same way. Anyway, I am excited they know each other and are going to A school together. :) So glad to hear that they will have some free time this weekend. Tanner mentioned that he may have duty.....did Brad mention that? I am way ready to head to GL!
B. J. is not a sailor yet. We may not know until Thursday. I am freaking out! I am trying really hard to stay positive, but not knowing is killing me.
Lesa and Tanner's Mom: Congratulations to you too and your sons. That is great. I hope we get to meet you guys. It is all up to B. J. whether or not he passes.
Golden Emily - I didn't realize as i didn't read all of the past postings that B.J. will not do BS until Wednesday. I think it is good that it will provide the opportunity to get stronger. I am sure the bronchitis has been hard on him and this will give him some recovery time. He will do GREAT!! You will be getting that Sailor call. Try not to worry...We are all thinking and praying for him. :)
