Molly had the GREAT idea to send some N4M love to some of our military that are "hurting".
I am going to say that July 12 is the "birthday" of this endeavor. July 13 it got named!!
"M.A.S. Special Hugs" - M.A.S. - for Molly's Adopt a Sailor!!!

From Molly: Hey Moms ---- we are having some wounded guys coming our way. Would you like to make a thread and those who would like to send a card or messages to our wounded ones.

If you know of someone in the military "hurting" and needing a "special hug" - PM me (Brenda Sue) the address and I'll post it in our "special place." I do ask that you keep us updated on the condition or change of address of anyone that has a lingering need.

OK - Mom's let's get this ball on the roll!!

I am going to keep these names in one place - so people don't have to read through hundreds of pages to find them. Go to MAS We Ship Love (Click Here) for the addresses. This is a private group - just ask to be a member and after you have been "checked out" - the powers that be accept you!

Please use the labels designed in the "Shipping Labels" discussion so they will be easily recognized!!

You can either print these on stickers or just tape them to the envelopes. If neither is possible, just write Molly's Adopt a Sailor on the envelope - so they know where they are coming from.

So good to hear that he is back on his feet! Hoping and praying that he has continued good health!
Comment by judy r 9 minutes ago I'm not sure i'm on the right site but someone refered me here.
My son is on the USS DALLAS and was hurt two weeks ago . since than he has suffered with swelling of the brain and fluid on the brain, he has seen 2 specialist and has been refered to a 3rd to talk about brain surgery. He is more worried about being taken off his boat and not getting his dolphins than the surgery. This may even cause him to be land locked or even a medical discharge. The mom told me that maybe some of you would be willing to send him a card. if you would let me know and i will gladly give you his address. please send the request for the address to my email of lazerpup@msn.com
Prayers would also be very welcome.
Brenda, Can we get Joshua, our sailor on the Dallas, added to our cards list above. His mom's e-mail address is above. Thanks tina, you got here before I could.

Operation Hero Miles was created by Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger in cooperation with close to a dozen United States Airlines in October, 2003. When started, the program allowed troops stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan to fly home on leave for free. It now gives family members of wounded servicemen and women free plane tickets to visit their loved ones recovering at military hospitals across the country. Operation Hero Miles gives ordinary citizens an opportunity to help our troops in a very direct way that makes a real difference in their lives.

Says across the country - not overseas - but it's a start.
Hey Moms - we have another need!!!! Please send encouragement ASAP!!!

Tina (SAILOR GAGE) said: I don't have the address (we do now, it is listed in the discussion above), just know that he is in the military hospital ICU in Guam. He had been in a motorcycle accident in past and had to have multiple surgeries to correct left leg. He has been fighting to keep his active duty service. Then yesterday he was involved in another accident (motorcycle is his transportation) and due to severe blood loos they could not save the right leg. He has no family there, American Red Cross nor Navy Relief can help my sister financially to get there so we are working on getting her there. So our primary concern is that he is alone and VERY upset that this may warrant a med discharge. BUT thank GOD he only lost a leg!! I have phone number to ICU. What other info should I get? I'm sorry for babbling...been a LONG night.
Thanks Jackie that is one to bookmark and remember.

Brenda your getting the info correct ? We need a place to send to. Poor baby ---sound like a stand in Mom is on her way to be next to him though. Good for her ~ I will be waiting to see if any addy comes threw. Until them prayers for this baby
The address is in the discussion at the top of the page!!
Please let's send him LOTS of momma love through cards and letters until his mom can get there!
Molly, I am working on getting my passport ASAP (have to renew my driver's license first)!!
Just renewed my driver's license by mail today and had planned to get a passport for Christmas, but may do so sooner just in case.
God watch over those who have signed on to serve our country and been injured. Watch over all our military.
Molly, Tina is one of my local moms and this is her Nephew. She was just at PIR last Friday with her son. Tina is a real sweetheart.
