Our “Holiday Sailors” and More!
I have the HONOR of anouncing...........Our Holiday GROUP

During the Holiday Season this year we have received a “special warm request” from a group of Seabees-YES, I said Seabees, in Afghanistan! The request came from the Battalion Chaplain of NMCB 74. The Chaplain says that they have Seabees in several locations around Afghanistan. He is hoping to do two things this Christmas-geez..Only 2, we can do MORE!

1) Have a smore roast by a campfire-singing Christmas carols and sharing Christmas stories of HOME.

2) He would like to have stockings to hand to his troops.
Moms, we want to send all the “warmth” and “Love” of Christmas to all 250 SEABEES

Now moms, are your hearts melting YET? Well, let’s get busy!
However, before you dash out the door, hear this!
We have had “some” VERY busy elf’s here!
Knit for the Navy Group has been busy knitting away at scarves
Heads at Ease has been busy sewing away at stockings.
A HUGE Thank You to "Lyn Love" who coordinated all our “crafty” Navy Moms!

We are looking for the "Warmth and L♥ve" that comes from “HOME” at Christmas time!
So think WARM, IT BRRRRRRRRRRR freezing in Afghanistan.
So think Stockings, we have to stuff all those stockings!
Think WARM, lets keep our Sailors warm and toasty!

I would also like to give a shout out to “UNO’s Grille” in Kissimmee Florida-UNO’s is accepting donations for Molly’s Adopt a Sailor and in return they are giving out a coupon for a FREE appetizer! Boy, where does it end! We have such an outpouring of support from all over! It’s NOT over yet!
Let’s hear it for our Central Illinois’ Moms who on their own is taking on another special group of 60 in Iraq this holiday season! The love never ENDS!!!!!

As Always, Please use our Molly’s Adopt a Sailor Labels on all items! Mailing Dates on November 27-December 5th, so let's start the HOLIDAY PARTY

I have one last think I would like to add!
I am a mom of a sailor aboard USS Rodney M. Davis, which was adopted last holiday season by Molly’s Adopt a Sailor. I could NEVER begin to explain how I felt knowing that my son’s ship was receiving all the love that Molly’s Moms have and MORE. The day the BAGS of mail arrived aboard the Davis my son just so happen to be there with our “contact” CMC Smith! Well let’s just say, Cannot repeat what came out of the CMC’s mouth! Shock and Awe, should explain it! My son called me a few hours later letting me know the mail was dropped and dropped big. My son received over 15 cards that Christmas and he read them repeatedly! He said “Mom it gets pretty lonely on this small” ship; So, I am “Paying it forward” Molly’s Moms Style!

PS-thanks Molly, it was about time you let me do this! L♥VE YOU SISTA!!!!
Please USE these LABELS so that CHAPPY knows they are from US...♥

Some of the HAE crew will be sewing stocking, but Lyn deserves the credit on this. She is doing the embroidery and cutting, with alittle help. I am expecting a big box in the mail next week.

Molly, I will need to know what to do with them once they are sewn.

HAE won't be sending pillowcases to this group. Sounds like they are getting plenty of mom love already. I crochet scarves as I sit at my computer and read the posts.

BUT, we are instead going to take those groups that Tina posted awhile back from the website and weren't adopted. Tina would you be willing to put those names and links on the HAE page? I will make a new thread for them.
Pillow just go to website and request which ones you want then Staci will get back to you. I think Staci is the only one who does the website kiddos ?? being webmaster and all ---- You wouldnt want me touching a website, holy smokes I would delete the whole thing accidentally. LOL
I will let you know tomarrow Barbara ---- and anyone else that wants to give this a try and see if they will allow someone to collect items by the door ?
OK whos good at letters requesting such a thing ? maybe a generic one we could use ?
Be sure and include some of the thank you letters we have received, and maybe run off some of the pix, so they can see why we get such warm fuzzies. It's going to be a long tough winter for our military.
What about stocking caps ---you know the regular old warm stocking caps they are inexpensive even.
Tina your xmsa story is PERFECT ---OMG what a great story.
HUGS to you
Ok, I'm an idiot! I didn't read everything and now I see that the stockings are all going to be the same so I volunteered to help sew them on the Heads at Ease site.
Yeah Barbara :)

Im thinking the things we send we just have the Chaplin open boxes and have the seabees stuff their own stockings ? Kinda like we saw them do in Kuwait boxes ---they belong to everyone ? What do you guys think ? Im sure Chaplin would be very willing to do this ------
Oh and I just talked to Susan via the phone (who is meeting Pete in an hour)
Anyway she said she would create the book for us ---like a scrapbook.
So Wa-LA we have the person taking the stories and making our book :)
So dont forget to go tell your favorite story or your family tradition in the Xmas story thread.
We will have the 250 stockings with the Seabees embroidered on them finished by the middle of the month. There will be one for each sailor. I'm going to send one to Molly, so she can let you know how much and what you can fit into them. Molly, need your address. Lyn
Hello all! reading..all the pages WOW----what great ideas! I love the hot chocolate, hand warmers, lipton soup all the ideas, these are so aforable for everyone to do and will be easy for our Chaplain to stuff into stockings. we have not quite worked out the "smore" deal! we can send the crackers and marshmallows but the chocolate may be hard! I will do some research on-line and find out the best way to get it there!
Do we need a separte dicussion for "Christmas Stories"...and scrapbook!???
