I will be doing scarfs for the large Christmas project at Molly's Adopt a Sailor. They are not going to mention anything over on that site because they are concentrating on other projects right now. But, since it takes a while to knit or crotchet a number of scarfs, she as given me the go ahead to contact you all. The scarfs will need to be no wider than 8 inches and no longer than 60 inches and no fringe that could get caught in their gear. I'm going to stick to desert camo and tans in my scarfs. Any of you have any thoughts please let me know. The more scarfs the better. They will all be sent to our sailors and Marines to keep them warm.

Not Yet. Molly won't announce the group until sometime in early Nov. right now she is at her son's PIR in Great Lakes. I will send out my address to those who don't want to ship directly, if they just have a few to send. Anyone who wants to will be able to send directly to our adopted sailors in the Stan.
OK, I finally have a ship by date and a final number. Any of you that are shipping directly to our adopted group will need to have your scarfs done by Dec. 1st. Any others who would rather not ship directly to our group can send them to me. I will need them by the 20th of November. You can contact me on my page and I will send you my address.

We will have the address for our adopted ones on Nov. 1st. Thank you all for taking a break from your afgans,(or doing the scarfs in addition to the afgans) to make these scarfs. I'll fill you in about our adopted group on Monday.
We now have a shipping Date. If you are sending them to me, I need them before Thanksgiving. Contact me at my page and I will send you my address.
For my count. Please send me your Name and the number of scarfs you will have finished, so I can get an accurate count. Thanks.Lyn
Is Black and Tan the right colors to use? I will get started on making one! do we send these to the same address that we do the afgan's?
The scarfs need to be tans and beiges. They need to be mailed to me so I can send them on to a group of Seabees in Afghanistan. I need to have them by Thanksgiving weekend. I'll send you my address if you add me to your friends list.
If any of you are shipping scarfs to me, could you please send them as soon as possible. I will be away the week of Thanksgiving and now I will need to travel the following week. My son's sub is getting back and so I need to mail the scarfs off early. Thanks every one.
Is it too late to start? I just found this site.
Kathy, We mailed this years scarf off on Dec 4th. But I plan on doing this next year as well, so you can have a whole year to do them. Or we may have a group to send them to in Jan or Feb. I don't have any information on those groups yet. Stay in touch I can always find a home for the scarfs with the Marines, Navy or Army.
Will do- I have a sweater I need to finish for Christmas so I have something to look forward to in the new year (I love new projects!)
